I'm not sure if any of you remember, but I posted back in January or February that Michele Henley Moore and I got together with a fundraising idea for Relay for Life. Actually, I had the idea and she did the amazing work! So you're probably asking, what's the idea? Well, Michele has made a queen size orange and green quilt that we are raffling off ~ for every donation to either my RFL or her RFL account of $5 you get a raffle ticket in the pot. For example, if you donate $50.00, you will get 10 raffle tickets added to the pot. So be looking for her post as she is going to post both of our links to Relay for Life AND a photo of the quilt. I am so excited as the quilt is absoltuely beautiful (I saw a photo early on and love it). I know the winner will be very pleased. I have to say thanks again to Michele for doing this. So start donating ya'll. Michele and I both really want someone from the kidney cancer community to win this quilt!
We're not having much discussion going on in our public page. Let's change that.....
Let's get to know one another ....
Where is everyone from?
If you're the patient, when were you diagnosed and at what age?
Are you (or your loved one) in treatment and if so what are you taking? Share what you would like about your journey!
We have people asking if anyone is from LA or MN....where's everyone located. Allen and I are in PA/MD. He's being treated in DC/Baltimore.
I would love to see our group hit 1000.....be sure to share with your kidney cancer community. We have are an online group with a support page that is public (this one), an private smaller group (with those who are active in the group), a non-facebook chat every Monday and Friday evenings (http://www.chatroll.com/kidney-cancer) and a Kidney Cancer Warriors Resource Blog (http://www.kcwresource.blogspot.com) with a KCW store where you can purchase kidney cancer awareness products including a KCW wristband.
Please see Kidney Cancer Warriors Resource Blog and the KCW Store:

We had a wonderful day celebrating the 2nd Annual Kidney Cancer Warriors Day yesteday. I forgot to count how many ballonds released. If you're in this goup, your name was on a ballloon. Again, this yea, we sent up balloons for those who are in the fight, those who are NED, & in remembrance balloons! Last year, we wrote on tags w/my email address hoping to hear from someone but that didn't happen. ...:( This year, I wrote on the balloons themselves. Before releasing the balloons - which we did all at one time, we prayed, then everyone read out the names that were written on their balloon. I shared about each person. It took a long time but Allen & I do this not to just release balloons but to put a great deal of thought into the warriors & those who have earned their wings.
For next year, puit on your calendar ... October 5th...Kidney Cancer Warriors Day Balloon Release! Gather your friends & family together, help us honor you, your loved one and raise kidney cancer awareness!

Since Allison posted her pics from Relay for Life, I thought it would be a great idea for everyone involved in a Relay this year to post pictures from their event. Perhaps this will motivate more of us to get involved. It's a great way to inform others about kidney cancer ... helps raise awareness ... we truly need a CURE for this horrible disease!
I didn't think to share the pics from our Kidney Cancer Warriors Team at our Relay for Life! Thanks for posting your pic Allison!
