WHAT IS MISSING? THIS IS A CRUCIAL QUESTION THAT NEEDS TO BE ASKED THROUGHOUT THE WORLD TODAY. But let's just ask this question regarding where our country (U.S.A) is today. Certainly, just about everyone can point out all kinds of things that they suggest are missing. But here is a shortlist of the crucial missing elements that separate 'JUST EXISTING' from 'FLOURISHING': courage, honesty, putting others above oneself, serving to honor as compared to serving for self-benefit, integrity, truthfulness, compassion, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness in God, kindness, goodness, righteousness, true love, obedience, investing in the next generations with the truths of God, and a willingness to confront evil(ness). But I have to be honest. Although these elements are certainly missing in far too many people today, and sadly far too many of our nation's so-called leaders. THE GREATEST THING THAT IS MISSING, which actually is the cause then for all these just listed things that are missing from our country today, actually has been revealed daily on national television for the past two and a half years as the new normal has been being revealed with the so-common inclusions of Zoom reporting. With all those Zoom or other remote-based reporting, which then include various person's offering their expert opinions or personal observations or thoughts being offered throughout so many news programs today each day. ASK YOURSELF WHAT IS MISSING FROM THOSE BACKGROUND ITEMS THAT ARE BEHIND EACH OF THESE PEOPLE. Don't let anyone fool you. All these people have made conscious decisions regarding what is going to be seen in their remote location. All of these people consciously have decided to place certain pictures, certain degrees, and other items that they want to communicate something of importance to all those viewers who ever see their included conversations in those news programs. BUT HAVE YOU TAKEN NOTICE THAT MOST OF THESE PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE A BIBLE BEHIND THEM? I personally have never seen any Bible(s) behind any one of the thousands of such remote reporting persons I have viewed over the past two and a half years. WITHOUT A COMPLETE RELIANCE ON THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE GOD. WITHOUT A COMPLETE RELIANCE ON JESUS CHRIST BEING OUR LORD AND SAVIOR, THERE CAN NOT EVER BE ANY OF THOSE MISSING ELEMENTS OF A FLOURISHING COUNTRY OR SOCIETY. WHAT ABOUT YOU----DOES YOUR BACKGROUND INCLUDE GOD'S WORD---THE BIBLE?

THERE WILL BE NO SUNDAY SERVICE THIS WEEK
It is still early on Sunday morning and while there is yet to be any icing in our area. It seems from the radar imaging pretty certain that with the existing ground temperatures and the impending moving in of rain (not snow). That around 9 AM icing will result and then increasingly create hazardous traveling conditions until well after when our Sunday Service would conclude. So, while I don’t usually ‘give into’ such weather threats. It seems pretty clear that we will in fact be facing icing that would cause traveling woes. Some people have already contacted me yesterday and stated that if there is any ice, that they will not be coming in (tomorrow). So let us take this day and use it well to ‘rest and reflect’ on God’s Still Greatness and Love, as we remain at home. THERE WILL BE NO SUNDAY SERVICE THIS WEEK.
And because I was not ‘knowing’ of this possibility until yesterday, I do not have the necessary setup with our streaming service to access and broadcast from home. So we will not be attempting that this Sunday either. TAKE THIS TIME TO ‘REST AND REFLECT’ on God’s Still Greatness and Love as we sit out this week’s gathering together for worship.
