June Invasive Species Class
https://cvent.me/75Dvr9
Invasive Species are a major threat to Indiana's ecosystems and economy, causing significant harm to native plants, animals, and habitats. These non-native species often out-compete and displace native species, leading to a loss of biodiversity and increased costs for management and control. In this educational series led by Purdue Extension experts, you'll learn how to:
1. Identify, report, track, and control invasive species in aquatic, forest, agricultural, and home landscape settings.
2. Choose and incorporate native plants into your home landscaping.
Course Topics are listed below:
June 4: Introduction to Invasive Species
June 11: Reporting, Recording, and Tracking
June 18: Invasive Forest Plants
June 25: Invasive Species in the Home Landscape
Optional - Thursday June 20th Invasive W**d Id Walk with Montgomery County CISMA at Sugar Creek Nature Park 5-7pm
All 4 sessions for $35
Or $10 for individual sessions (Cash or check only)
Did you know that some popular landscape shrubs are now considered invasive?
Burning Bush, Japanese Barberry, and Asian Bush Honeysuckle have spread to our forests. Can you think of more landscape species that are now considered invasive??
