It’s our time now !!!

Our annual night before hunting season:

‘‘Twas the nite before deer season and all through the house,
Every hunter was sleeping,
Even their hunting dogs.

The bows were hung by the back door with care,
In hopes the 30 point buck,
Would still be there.

The hunters were nestled,
All snug in their beds.
While visions of huge bucks,
Danced in their heads.

While momma in her kerchief
I in my hunting cap,
Had just settled down,
For a long winters nap.

When out on the lawn
There rose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed
To see what was the matter.

Away to the window,
I flew like The Flash,
Tore open the screen door,
And ripped from its latch.

The moon on the breast,
With no sign of snow,
Gave a glimpse of the colors below.
When what do my wondering eyes
Should appear but that 30 point buck
Standing so near.

It was then my wife WOKE me !
No This Can’t Be !
For I’ve seen the 30 point buck staring at me.
He’s the buck of a life!!
I can’t believe it was a dream!!

I vowed to never sleep again!
