A GREAT START!
A great way to start off 2018 is to share the news that Wooden Boatworks' second Fife 8 Metre, Defender, which was launched in May 2017 has been nominated Best Traditional New Build by Classic Boat Magazine! If this sounds familiar at all, that's because Invader, our first Fife 8 launched in 2015 was the winner of the same award back then. We appreciate the recognition by Classic Boat.

The Wooden Boatworks page has been quiet lately, but it's quite a different story in the shops. We'll be updating you on all the activity in the coming weeks.
Here's another point of view from yesterday's 8 Metre sail with Classic Boat. This clip provided by The Calendar of Wooden Boats' Benjamin Mendlowitz. Thanks Benji.
Out for a sail with the girls, yesterday. Classic Boat Magazine's editor, Rob Peake, shot this video of Defender, our May launch from the deck of Invader. Invader was voted Best Traditional New Build Over 40' for 2016 by Classic Boat's readers. We're happy to have Rob and Classic Boat in town gathering material for a story on Wooden Boatworks that will appear in an upcoming issue. We'll let you know when that happens. Good sailing with you, Rob.
A perfect day for a launch in Greenport, yesterday.
Oh MY!
Defender came out into the sun yesterday morning and made the trip east to Greenport where the final tweaks are happening before Saturday's launch. Rain, rain - stay away!

4 Days until Defender slides into the water for her first season! The shiny bits are on and she's almost ready for some sunlight.
A lot has happened on Defender since the whiskey plank. It's all hands on deck (and everywhere else, too) keeping the May 6th launch on schedule.
Have a look at the "Fast Forward Fife" album we just posted to catch up on Wooden Boatworks' activity.
The Wooden Boatworks page has been a little quiet, but Wooden Boatworks is anything but quiet. Defender, our second Fife 8 Metre is well on the way to a May 6th launch.
JOY, PEACE & WOODEN BOATS!!
Wishing you safe and happy holidays from the growing family at Wooden Boatworks

A few weeks ago, we mentioned that there would be more news coming soon. Well, here's some great news. Invader has made the cover of the May issue of Classic Boat Magazine and is the subject of the feature article. The article was written by Pat Mundus with an accompanying page by Theo Rye. The cover and illustrations for the article are the photographs of Peter Braune.
Thanks to Classic Boat for all of the attention! Grab a copy and enjoy!
