It is with great regret and sorrow that Chakras Spa has closed our doors. It has been an honor to provide premium hair, skin, nail, massage & bodywork services, and creative, artistic First Friday celebrations from our beautiful space in downtown Greensboro to all of our fine clients throughout the years. There are lots of ways to help your fellow Greensboro residents who were affected by Sunday's tornado. Here is a list that consolidates how to help and what is needed.

1. Make a monetary donation through the United Way of Greater Greensboro:

3. Goodwill is taking donations:
Accepting household goods, including furniture, clothing, home goods, and school supplies from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, and 1-6 p.m. on Sundays, at ALL Goodwill locations.

4. The Interactive Resource Center, 407 E. Washington St., is accepting water and non-perishable food items from 8 a.m.-5 p.m, Tuesdays through Fridays, and 8 a.m-2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

5. Drop Arts Supplies needed for Guilford County Schools upstairs at Center for Visual Arts, on the 4th floor of the Cultural Arts Center, 200 N. Davie St. 9 a.m.-5 p.m.:

+ Violins (varying sizes)
+ Keyboards (any size will do)
+ General music instruments (think recorders, ukuleles, Orff instruments)
+ Visual art supplies: paper, glue, paint, markers, crayons, etc
+ Make checks payable to CFGG (Community Foundation) and put “arts” in the memo line.

6. Help students displaced from Hampton, Erwin and Peeler Elementary Schools by dropping off school supplies today from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Greensboro Children’s Museum. The most needed supplies are 24 pack crayons, 12 pack colored pencils, wide-ruled loose-leaf paper, yellow #2 pencils and children’s art work. Bring a drawing or draw one when you’re at the museum to share with children who lost so much. They also need volunteers of children and adults to work the drop off table in the GCM lobby. 7. There is a donation station set up at 2501 Phillips Avenue in Greensboro. It’s the McGirt-Horton Library. They need all kinds of stuff. Food: fresh fruit (or pull tab cans...they don’t have can-openers), bread, peanut butter, jelly, beef jerky...anything you can eat without preparation. They also need hygiene products: soap, deodorant, feminine products, diapers, wipes, toilet paper, etc. They also requested power strips to help people charge their phones.

Our neighbors at the Interactive Resource Center are collecting donations for those in our community who have been affected by the tornado. Please help in any way that you can.
