Where were you 3 years ago when I served up my first bowl (the catfish pictured)? Probably standing in line waiting for my slow ass to get your food done! 😅 Happy Anniversary to my homebase, All Saints Brewing Company! I'm not sure how much of this business would be possible without Jeff giving me a chance to get my idea and my food out into the world. Thank you to him and all of the staff who are some of my best friends and favorite humans now! And thank you to not only everyone who supported on that day but the folks who still come on Wednesdays (sans pizzas) and continue to support me!

Amazing News Alert:

So... 2 years ago, coming off of my first year conquering one of my big goals of serving at Barrel and Flow Fest, I took a beautiful September Sunday and attended what is now the best party in Pittsburgh, Slappers N Bangers. As the day progressed and the attendance grew and grew, I looked at my boy, Joey, and said, "I need to get into this... I need to serve here!" So, almost immediately, the work began. For 2 years, I called in favors from my girl, Stephanie Brea. I attended every party I could make it to. I sold and promoted myself and my business as much as I could but I never got a foot in the door.
Well, after being able to serve some of the good folks at Trace Brewing recently, I finally received the text that I have been waiting for! On Sunday, September 29th, I will be serving at Trace from 4:00-9:00 for their hosting of Slappers N Bangers! I don't really have a big enough word to describe my excitement but as Steph said when I delivered her the news, all of my worlds are colliding! All of the things that I have been working for are happening and I just feel so blessed! So, clear your calendars and come see me next month! Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen!

With so many young men and women entering their senior year (including my own daughter 😭),.I've had a lot of inquiries about my caterings. I stopped making my own menus for everyone to choose from after my first year. It just felt too restrictive. So I began to work with each customer to create a special, one-off menu that will hopefully be as special as the event they are celebrating. And as I was going through these pictures, it really made me see the effects of that strategy. I've gotten to make some really fun and unique things outside of the normal fried chicken and rigatoni!
So, here are some of my favorites that I've put together. If you are hoping to have someone cater your next event, I hope these pictures give you not only some ideas of what I can do but I hope it makes you think of some possible new things we can do. My catfish stock is a lil low, so I'm gonna bring a little of the fan favorite, "Big Shrimpin' Bowl"! I will be serving at 4:00 and wrapping up at around 9:00. I love all of the pictures that the good folks around me captured on Saturday but I had to share this one that my boy, Joey, captured by itself. This... This is my life. These past 3 years have been an absolute blur of failure and success, tragedy and triumph. There's always so much going on in and around my life but I'm just trying to stay present, stay positive, be happy and find some peace. After he took it, he showed it to me and all I could say was, "Duuude... This is it!!!"

Okay... I finally had some time to decompress and reflect on how amazingly amazing Barrel and Flow Fest was yesterday! I can't even think of what my favorite part may have been. It could've been the gentleman who challenged me on my Low-country-ness before he ordered and then walked away so happy with his food. Or maybe the guy who walked up to me and said, "That remoulade... It made me homesick for New Orleans." Or perhaps when my guy, Rick Sebak let me know that I was one of the main reasons he even attended. Like... WHAT!?!
Thank you to my team who was absolutely amazing! For the first time I can remember, they allowed me to just be the face of the business and interact with the public and I really enjoyed that. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, especially my sister and nieces and a couple of my Greensburg girls! Thank you to my El Diablo Brewing Co & Wood-fired Kitchen fam who allowed me to borrow their van and giving me the proper space to cook all those greens! Thank you to Poulich Pit BBQ for coming through with dat sauce! And thank you, Lord for carrying me through a very difficult week! It's a whole lot to do things like this but I wouldn't want to trade it for the world.

Well... It's finally just about go time! This is gonna be the nicest, not too hot, sunny and bright day to enjoy the #1 beer festival in America, Barrel and Flow Fest! If you're feeling ballertastic, VIP entrance begins at 3:00. General admission begins at 5:00. And everything wraps up at 9:00. That's a full-on day of partying, drankin' and enjoying some delicious food and great entertainment! Come and catch myself and my crew in the courtyard! 🍻🤎
