Calling all Furman Bands alumni! Join us June 26-27 for the 1st band alumni reunion! The reunion includes a banquet, a chance to perform as part of the Lakeside Concert Series, visiting with former classmates and conductors and others who share the Furman Bands experience, and strolling down memory lane while creating new ones!! Registration is open until May 31!!

So proud of our Furman musicians on a terrific opening night of Orpheus in the Underworld and especially our Furman Bands students playing in the pit orchestra! Great work!

Next Wednesday!

Join us next Wednesday at 6pm for our Spring Pops Concert! We will be performing outdoors behind our campus dining hall (by the lake, but not at the amphitheater). This concert is open to the public, so bring your friends and family! We can’t wait to see you there!

What a wonderful time having Dr. Bish on campus this week! We learned so much, had a few laughs, and made big promises. We also got to enjoy the Rothko Trio’s outstanding performance.

What a special evening! Huge congratulations to Melanie Wells and her students for their beautiful performances last night.

🎶So inspiring to hear so many young clarinetists!🎶

A big thank you for letting us crash the recital and a huge congrats to Annabelle! We are so excited to have you in the Furman Clarinet Studio next year!

After graduation, Caitlin Roberson will travel to Bavaria, Germany, to begin her English Teaching Assistant program as a Fulbright Scholar. She will also work at Abbott's Frozen Custard in downtown Greer during the summer before leaving in September.

You can catch her this evening at Byrnes High School performing a selection from Bach’s Cello Suite No. 1 on bass clarinet.

Next up!

After graduation, Lex Burson will be attending Northwestern University for a Masters in Musicology! Although she does not know exactly what her focus will be on, she knows that she will further educate herself on music of marginalised communities to try and strengthen their voices.

Lex, you will be missed!

Graduation is such a bittersweet time! We celebrate our seniors but will miss them dearly!

Here is our first senior spotlight!

After graduation, Thomas McCoy-Bruce will be traveling to Iceland on a May Experience course with Furman. In June, he will start an internship as a biology research assistant at the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area through a joint program with Americorps, the National Park Service, and Conservation Legacy, where he will be researching and mapping groundwater seeps and springs within the park.
