The few remaining hardy plants in my garden that, so far, resisted frost damage. It’s just a matter of time…
A seemingly ordinary interplay of light and shadow. But today i was struck with wonder. Even if i can explain the optics behind it. I remember watching one of my sons when he was a baby, admiring the movement of his fingers, studying it closely. Take time to wonder. Were not too old to marvel, to be awed and fascinated.
We know our place. Don’t let big corporations dictate how we live.
When Allyson Felix became pregnant, Nike was prepared to cut the terms of Felix's endorsement by as much as 70% due to the pregnancy, and told her to “know your place and just run.” 🤯
Amid all of this, she was forced to have an emergency c-section seven months into her pregnancy because of a potentially life-threatening condition and her baby had to live for more than a month in the NICU. But two years later she’s qualified for her fifth Olympics with her daughter watching.
Felix dropped Nike and created her own brand of running shoes, the Saysh One. She is currently running in the Olympics in Japan wearing them under the banner “I Know My Place”. 😏
With 11 medals now, she passed Carl Lewis this summer for the most track and field medals by an American in history!
"I used my voice and built this company for you. So that you never have to train at 4:30am while you're 5 months pregnant to hide your pregnancy from your sponsor.”

I call this promise from God in Ephesians 3:20 as the Triple Superlative Promise, or Triple Adverb. I have never seen any statement like this in literature. Meditate on this. Read it in different Bible versions and be amazed at the extreme generosity of God. But more than that, believe and claim it - and receive the “exceedingly, abundantly, and above all” blessings.🙏🙏🙏

UNPLANNED. Sometimes the best vacation you can take is unplanned. It can be right in your front yard. Yes, all you need is a portable lounge beach chair and a good shady spot. That's one reason we landscaped the yard and kept the plants well-watered. Shower them with love and they love you in return.😊

THE PHOBIA THAT YOU NEED TO OVERCOME MOST (IF YOU HAVE IT)
There are 400 known and documented phobias. Some of the common ones are Arachnophobia=fear of spiders, aviophobia=fear of flying, agoraphobia=fear of heights, claustrophobia=fear of confined spaces, and nyctophobia=fear of darkness.
But there is one phobia that you need to recognize and overcome most (if you have it)--atychiphobia, an excessive and irrational fear of failure.
I don't fear failure.
Failure is just a day in the School of Hard Knocks compared to years of living life to the fullest, living with passion.

Focus only on a few things that you're good at and that you love most.
March to the Music of Your Passion...
Quote for the day. Isn’t that also true about life?
PASSION AND PURPOSE
Do not confuse passion with purpose; they are distinct.
Passion is your strong desire for something that drives you to overcome obstacles and endure difficulties to accomplish the object of your desire.💖
Purpose is your underlying reason, the why you do what you do. It is focused on contributing to the well-being of others.😇
These are what’s in common between the two:
1) Both come from the heart. ❤️Try asking people to tell you their purpose and passion(s). Carefully observe their emotions when they tell you. If you don’t see the emotions, ask them why is it their passion? Why is it their purpose?
2) We were not born with these. Both are fostered based on our upbringing, influences, environment, and interests.
3) Both are potent sources of motivation. This is one reason why people confuse passion with purpose. Passion may be multiple and short-lived. But purpose is singular, and once defined, should be for life. 🎇
Ideally, your purpose and passion should not clash. Like two circles, they should converge. Do what you love (passion) and do what’s good for others (purpose). 🙌

THE PIANO TUNER’S WORK
An old piano was slowly gathering dust in the garage. The owners were downsizing. One of the two pianos had to go.
No doubt the piano had sentimental value to its owners. The family had sung together to its music. Happier times when the kids were still young. They learned to play it. One daughter's music career started with it. But now, the kids are grown-ups and on their own. They left ample space in the once-crowded house, a big void in their parents' hearts, and a giant piano seldom played except when the big kids were home for Thanksgiving or Christmas reunions.
We needed the piano. That would be the first that we would ever own. It's time for our sons to graduate from electronic keyboard to piano. We wondered how much the owners would ask for it and if we could pay.
"Name the price," the couple told us. Ela was quick to the occasion. "Would you give it for twenty-five dollars?" she asked with a smile, aware of the dirt-cheap price she was asking. To our surprise, the couple agreed. How many pianos could we buy with a few hundred dollars! I thought.
We arranged for a church brother to bring his truck and requested one male friend to help us carry the piano to the truck and our house in 714 Midland, Kansas.
Boy, I've never carried anything as heavy in my life! And we're only carrying one side while the other was rolling on two small wheels. When we pushed it down from the truck through our door, it made a deep dent on the wood floor (genuine maple wood floor). Ugly dent.
Soon it was positioned on the south side of our living room. After cleaning, its dark mahogany finish stood up. It didn't sound good yet. After the professional tuner's masterful adjustments, the piano produced sweet music. She charged us seven times the piano's price for her services! But without her tuning, the piano would not have given out its full musical potential.
We are, in many ways, like that piano. We've so much potential—but we're unwanted, almost worthless. But in the hands of the Great Tuner, our potential becomes a reality. Suddenly we have value. We become wanted.
The tuning process: turning of screws, cleaning of joints, and tightening of the strings may not be pleasant. But the outcome is joy. Delightful music to the ears! The trials of life are all part of the necessary tuning process to make us reach our fullest potential.
WHEN THE MINORITY IS RIGHT
DID YOU KNOW that only 15% of workers worldwide are engaged at work, according to a Gallup poll? The majority, 85% of workers, even admitted hating their jobs!😢
In which group do you belong – the majority or the minority?
If you belong to the majority, you must have reasons (or excuses) for disengaging at work. First on the list may be your boss. Another reason may be your colleagues who are hard to get along with. Or worse, a more extensive toxic culture permeates your workplace. You may be a creative person who loves challenges, but the only challenge you get from your work is staying positive despite the mind-numbing repetitive work that you do every day.
BUT HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED how the minority, the 15%, got to love their work? Or work on what they love? 😍Are they just lucky to be in the right place at the right time? Or is there something that you don’t know?
Think about this. As the disengaged workers drag themselves to work every day, progress is happening everywhere – discoveries in science, new inventions, startups are surging, businesses are expanding, and the list goes on.
Who is behind all these advances that make our lives better? It’s the minority, the 15%, who embraced their authenticity, imagined new ways of doing things, took risks, overcame obstacles, and put their hearts and minds in all they do every day.💖
PASSION MAKES THE MINORITY STAND OUT. Do you belong to this minority?
