Ever wondered what happens to your heart when you get spooked? 👻❤️ When you get scared, your heart races because your body releases adrenaline, preparing you to either fight or flee. Your heart pumps faster to send more blood to your muscles, giving you the energy to react quickly. It’s your body’s natural response to fear!

Happy Halloween from ATI!

This fall is already flying by because our schedules are packed with learning new skills, collaborating with amazing colleagues, and reconnecting with alumni. Here are a few highlights from September:

➡️ Lindsey and Kimber gave a presentation about ATI and EP at Furman University
➡️ Two of our alumni, Chase Christopher and Daniel Hedbloom, sent us a picture now that they work together at Abbott in Florida.
➡️ Alumni and current EP Specialist at Boston Scientific, Joe Schroer, visited us and gave a presentation to our current cohort.
➡️ Impulse Dynamics gave us a visit to utilize our facilities for their professional development training.
➡️ Some of our Spring 2024 graduates had a mini reunion at their new hire training with Boston Scientific

We're looking forward to more fun in Q4!

Faculty Spotlight: Paul Holland 🌟

Paul’s journey with ATI started after graduating from ECPI University in 2004 with a degree in Computer Programming. Following an internship with Honeywell, he joined ATI as an IT consultant. In 2005, Paul graduated from ATI’s Cardiac Specialist program and spent 16 years as the senior member of the Cardiac Device Team at Prisma Health. "How did you end up at ATI?"

This is a common question asked to our students, and the answer is: they came from all over the place! From Arizona to upstate New York, each dot on this map represents not just where each student is from, but an individual story of hard work and big dreams. We're proud to be the home of a diverse class of aspiring cardiac specialists.

For the next few months, we'll be learning together in Greenville, South Carolina. We're so excited to be part of their journeys!

Today, we're shining a spotlight on 2023 ATI graduate Audrey Asis! Audrey's came to ATI with a Biology degree from the University of Georgia, and her background helped her to thrive while she gained her certification with us. She has now been an Associate Clinical Specialist at Abbott EP for over a year, where she's been able to travel and learn from amazing mappers and physicians.

Audrey credits ATI for changing the course of her life, as it helped her to pivot when she realized she wanted a new career path. We're so grateful for Audrey, and she's changed us for the better, too! 💗

How do our students achieve success in the field? From Day One, we teach them that the answer is collaboration.

One way that we show this to be true is through our industry partnerships. This past week, representatives from Johnson & Johnson MedTech visited our campus to provide invaluable real-world insights to our current cohort. We're so grateful for their enriching perspectives and for the time they invest in our students!

Faculty Spotlight: Charles Zimmer 🌟

Charles Zimmer is a specialist in CRM Training, but did you know his journey to ATI was pretty unconventional? Like many of our students and alumni, Charles didn't start in the healthcare or the BME industry. However, a job as a hospital chaplain led him to his interest in cardiac care, and he joined ATI as a student in 2014. Over the last ten years, he's been working in the field: in device clinics, at Biotronik, and at Impulse Dynamics as a clinical trial liaison. We're so glad that Charles is back at ATI, training our students and preparing them for successful careers in cardiac care.

Thank you, Charles, for everything you do!

We're back with another book recommendation from Kimber! 📚

This month's book is "The Obstacle is the Way" by Ryan Holiday. Here are Kimber's highlights:

➡️ Composure:
We don't control when things get hard; however, we can always control how we respond, stay poised and graceful.

➡️ Change your perspective:
Every obstacle we experience gives us an opportunity to improve and get things done.

➡️ Change outlook on failure:
It is our opportunity to see what did not work, analyze and try again.

➡️ Build resilience:
Having the opportunity to sit in the hard stuff and find solutions will build resilience.

➡️ Embrace challenges:
Welcome the challenge and be willing to pay the cost of what that is so you can grow stronger and wiser.

➡️ Action - Hustle - Move:
Do not sit still and wait—keep moving and find options and keep trying every day.

Through obstacles, we find balance and learn to keep emotions in check. They help us be honest and realistic. They are humbling, and they focus us on the end game.

We'd love to hear from you! Do you have a book recommendation for Kimber?
