Hello Rejuven patients and friends! Caitlin McGougan is now seeing patients at Rejuven Joint Care, LLC in Greenville!

Construction is now complete in the Spartanburg office, but we are in a waiting period for all of our credentialing from the State of South Carolina and the insurance companies.

We are VERY excited for our expansion to Spartanburg! We appreciate your patience while we continue going through all of the processes to make sure that we follow every rule and regulation to do it the right way.

Rejuven Joint Care is excited to welcome Caitlin McGougan, MMSc, PA-C to our team! Ms. McGougan is originally from northern Illinois, but has been based in South Carolina since graduating magna cm laude from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. She went on to become a Physician Assistant after obtaining her Master of Medical Science degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

She has lived in the Greenville area since 2020, where she has practiced Emergency Medicine at several hospitals across the Upstate. As an avid runner and hiker, she is excited to be part of the Rejuven team. According to Ms. McGougan, "I am excited to be part of the Rejuven team and help our patients get back to doing more of what they love."

Ms. McGougan will be joining the Rejuven team in the Greenville office in mid-March, 2024.

It is open enrollment time for Medicare! If you are thinking about changing your insurance to Medicare or a Medicare Replacement Plan, there is only a certain window every year that you are eligible to do that. Now is the time!

The enrollment window is open from October 15-December 7th. Don't wait to make sure you have the coverage you want. It can be confusing, so here are a few pointers:

Medicare

Also known as 'traditional Medicare', 'Part B', or 'Red, White, and Blue,' this is federal Medicare program. It typically pays 80% of your medical expenses and you pay the remaining 20%.

If you want additional drug coverage you can also add a "Part D" plan. If a provider is a Medicare approved provider they can see all original Medicare patients no matter which state they are in or you are from. In most cases you don't need a referral to see a specialist.

Medicare Supplement

Also known as a 'gap' or "Medigap" policy, this is a separate, additional policy that will usually covers the 20% that Medicare doesn't pay depending on the level of Medigap policy you choose. There is typically an additional monthly premium that you are responsible to pay each month for this type of plan. These plans do not cover prescription drugs. A Part D plan is used to cover drugs when you have original Medicare.

Typically you must have Medicare Part A and Part B in order to qualify for a Medigap policy.

Medicare Replacement Plan

Medicare Replacement also known as "Medicare Advantage" (MA) plans are an all-in-one alternative to Original Medicare. These combined plans include Part A, Part B and most often also Part D.

Most MA plans offer extra benefits like vision, hearing, dental and other benefits that original Medicare will not, however there can be an additional cost over the original Medicare Part B premium.

Many people like MA plans because their out of pocket for premiums is often much less than if they have Medicare with drug coverage.

However, lower cost up front could cost you more on the back end. Many MA plans require you to pay a copayment, coinsurance, and deductibles over and above what original Medicare requires.

Many of the MA plans will not cover services outside of their limited networks or require referrals for anything out of network or specialists services, so it is important before choosing a MA plan that you are sure that your providers are in network with that plan or you may incur unexpected out of pocket expenses or not be able to see the providers you have been seeing for years if they are not in network.

Our patients often ask us which is better, and while we cannot make that decision for you, we hope that the information provided above can help you to navigate the process of choosing a plan a bit easier.

Rejuven Joint Care is a Medicare participating provider.

We are in network with BCBS, Cigna, Aetna, and Humana.

While we can accept patients with other insurances, if you have an HMO plan with a payer that we are not in network with, they will not pay for our services.

Some other plans that we bill frequently that we are not in network with are UHC, Wellcare, Multiplan and Tricare. Most of these plans will cover the services we provide, but the amount assigned to patient responsibility could be higher than it is for the plans we are in network with.

At Rejuven Joint care we are always happy to give you a good faith estimate of your out of pocket costs prior to your services.
