Precious Truffle…. he was found roaming the streets. He had clearly been dumped quite some time ago. Once we got him into rescue, we realized he had several fractured teeth, cuts everywhere, was high heartworm positive, had damaged to most of his body. He got very lucky the day, his foster chose him. Despite the fact that his Heartworms are too far advance to be treated, his wonderful Foster has chosen to choose him as her companion. He will live out the rest of his days in her caring, loving arms. Happy Adoption day to you sweet Truffle♥️ We are so blessed to have found you!!!

Today we celebrate the adoption of Boomer. Before you send accolades, let me tell you the real story. Boomer was shot several times and thrown away. He was found by a teenage girl and brought into our rescue. I called my friend Anna Blestel, and she immediately came to his rescue. The wounds and damage were significant and I thought it would be in the best interest of the dog to let him go. With her ever willing attitude and abundant heart, Anna said absolutely NOT. She was going to fight for this dog. She spent months rehabilitating him, taking him to countless vet visits, healing him after surgery and single-handedly, found him the home of his dreams. Today, Boomer has been adopted by a professor at Wofford and spends his days in class with his new favorite person. It is the unsung heroes of Rescue like Anna Blestel who deserve all the credit but, rarely get or want it. I’m so blessed, challenged and encouraged by her strength, stamina, and never ending relentless pursuit of justice for animals. Today we celebrate Boomer, this little over comer who has found his way to triumph, but equally I celebrate Anna without whom none of this would have been possible. When asked to take in yet another cat...the answer was an emphatic NO. We have no room for the cats we have in rescue. Then, she sent me the photo. It appears this severely neglected cat has been confined to this cage for EIGHT YEARS. I decided the moment I saw this photo that we would move heaven and earth to get that cat away from her captors and to freedom. When asked why they would cage this animal in such a way the reply was "she could knock over my trinkets". The absolute despair that I feel when I realize this cat lost her sight while in confinement has broken my heart. TODAY - she has her first day of freedom. She has been RESCUED! Sadly, her foster reports that she seems to have no will to live. She just sinks into the floor when approached, but offers a beautiful purr when she is petted. She has never been to a vet, never experienced the beauty of looking out a window, never known love...never shown love. Welcome to our newest tiny rescue:( This little kitten showed up at a home screaming in pain. We got him immediately to the vet. He has been diagnosed with Manx Syndrome. His last vertebrae and spinal segments have not developed normally which is affecting his colon function. Of course, we are pulling out all stops for him and look forward to getting him healed and on his feet. There is a great probability (with proper care) he can grow into a healthy, happy kitty. Last week we took in a kitten that cost over $800. We are simply struggling under the weight of our veterinary bills. This little fella (who we have named Cope) has racked up $478 so far. Lola is a beautiful 1.5 year old hound mix. She’s still young so she loves to run and play outside but then she’s ready to cuddle up for the rest of the day and enjoy some belly rubs🐾❗️

🐶 Lola is potty trained and kennel trained and is learning to walk well on a leash. She loves everyone she meets including children, 🐱 kitties and doggies ❤️

🐶 Lola’s ideal home would have a fenced in yard with friends to play with. She would love an active family to go on walks or play out on the yard, then come inside to Netflix and chill.

🐶 Her biggest fears are fireworks and her biggest temptations are trash cans .. she shouldn’t be left unattended around either 👍🏼

Aries and Archer came into our rescue with the rest of their litter. They have been with incredible fosters but have been with us for over a YEAR. (Look at their sweet little baby pics ..AHHH my heart! 🥰)

They are such loving, deserving pups and we are just so so thankful to celebrate they are not only adopted, BUT ADOPTED TOGETHER! Our hearts are so full! Wednesday I received an urgent message from a lady who found this dog on the side of the road in the freezing temperatures. She was able to track down the owners who admitted that they had dumped her on the streets. Although, our rescue is struggling financially and desperately lacking for foster care… we simply could not turn this dog away. She was taken to the vet yesterday where she was found to have an infected tail, a UTI, infected v***a and is high heartworm positive. Upon examining her x-rays, the vet found she had swallowed an electrical cord, Christmas lights and a shower sponge. Those items have now been extracted and we are making a plan for her full recovery. We are so thrilled to have her in a warm foster home and we want her to know that not all humans are bad and that she is loved. As you can imagine, her medical bills will skyrocket and we would greatly appreciate any help that you can give us toward her care. Thank you, as always for supporting our rescue efforts.  *   Motherly Instincts: Her time as a mother has instilled in her a strong sense of responsibility. She is patient and caring, even with other animals, making her a great companion for other pets.

Health:

Tangerine is up-to-date on her vaccinations. She's been regularly dewormed and treated for fleas, ticks, and other parasites. She will need to be spayed which will be provided by rescue.

She has FIV, so she will need to stay indoors. Otherwise, she is in perfectly good health.

I saw his precious little face on the euthanasia list. He was scheduled to die the day I pulled him. His little jaw had been crushed and he was high heart worm positive. I just couldn’t let him die simply because of the fate the hand of cruel humans had dealt him. Lola Bean stepped up to pull him and Leandra Allison Bright fostered him. He went through lots of medical care with a precious little attitude….so thankful and happy every step of the way. Today… he has found a forever home and my heart just wants to soar! I’m so thankful for fosters. I’m so thankful for the support of the public. Oh how this precious dog is SO deserving of a loving family. Happy adoption day sweet Drake….if only for you… the burdens I carry, the financial load I bare… you alone would make it worth every step I take😁🐾

I can only imagine how frightened this little kitten was when the engine started. She rode her way for many many miles under the hood of a car. Only the story ends in triumphs rather than tragedy. Today, we are so thrilled to announce that Little Lucky has found her forever home. There is so much more to her story… there is so much more to ALL of their stories than the public will ever know.
