Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. Epsilon Theta Chapter won 4 Greek Awards last night at ECU’s Greek Awards Banquet including Highest GPA, Chapter of the Year, Outstanding Educational Program, and Outstanding Academic Program.

Also congrats to our lovely Advisor Alley and Alumnae sister Sydney Lattimore on their individual Alumni Recipient awards❤️🎉

Today, we celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day, shifting our focus from a colonial time in history to the pre-existing rich heritage and legacy of native people all over the world.

Our sister Jessica Colotl (Epsilon Alpha Chapter, Spring 2009) recently learned that her status was revoked. Despite previous rulings and successful renewals, Jessica faces yet another legal battle. She serves as a prime example of courage and strength in the continuing debate nationwide. ✨We asked Professor Essie Torres of ECU's Department of Health Education and Promotion: What makes you proud be Hispanic? This is what she had to say: I am proud to be Latina because I have a strong foundation based on pride in my culture, language, and traditions, respect towards others, and strong worth ethic. My mother taught me the importance of being an educated, professional, and strong Latina and these are the things that I hope to pass onto my daughters. As a Latina, I strive to be a leader and role model within our communities to help the next generation of Latinos succeed. I am proud to be able to work with my Latino community and be an active agent of change and improve our health and quality of life.✨
