For those that know me - what else should have I included about myself??

Being from the Upstate of SC, I feel a large drive to support this community and make genuine chiropractic care affordable, effective, and achievable. Too often I hear people saying “I can’t afford a chiropractor” or “I see a chiropractor but it’s $70 and I’m only in there for a few minutes plus get no results”. I am doing my best to decrease this narrative in the community.

POV: You’re jumping with joy after running the farthest you ever have without pain, numbness, or tingling in your legs! 😃😃

This past weekend I successfully completed my first 10k and had the absolute best time! This was such a journey for me. After having surgery on both my legs around 10 years ago for chronic compartment syndrome and not getting the results I wanted, I felt as there was no hope.

In chiropractic school, I learned that the body is self healing and miraculous. This slowly started to change my mindset. Around 6 months ago I put in the effort to make some changes for myself. I lost 30 pounds, got adjusted regularly, trained regularly, and fully believed that I could heal.

I’m happy to say now that I healed.

This was also a huge learning moment for me. My patients often deal with pain, numbness, and tingling. Knowing that I could tell them first hand that I put in the work to improve drastically may help them realize that they possibly could too. I also realized that I can understand them more. Sometimes it really does seem that you’re stuck with dysfunction for life. Thankfully, this was not the case for me. However, I do realize that there are some limitations to certain conditions.

This is just a friendly and happy reminder that you are capable of much more than you probably think you are!

Today I want to highlight the person who has had the absolute biggest impact on my personal and professional life. As a second generation chiropractor, my mother has been monumental in turning me into the caring and passionate chiropractor that I am today.

I love the juxtaposition of these two pictures. The first picture is of my graduation day and the second picture is when my mother was beginning her chiropractic journey in the 90’s while holding me. I had the honor of wearing her cap on my graduation day.

Today is her birthday so wish her a happy birthday in the comments! 🥳 I love you so much, mom!! Thank you for everything!

I will be out of office this coming Friday, April 5th, as I travel to Charleston to do the !! 🏃🏽‍♀️

This will be the longest run I’ve done since having surgery on both of my legs due to compartment syndrome. And guess what? I am feeling better than ever 🤩 I am so excited for this weekend! This is my encouragement to each of you to try to overcome any mental and physical barriers you may deal with when it comes to certain activities. If you need a caring chiropractor to help you along then I am here for you 🤝

Yesterday I had a great time visiting my alma mater - !

I spoke to a couple classes about what their first year as a chiropractor may look like and also had to throw in a little radiology fun too 👀

“Look well to the spine for the cause of disease” - Hippocrates

As we all know, the spine is an integral structure in our bodies and protects our vital neurological system. I agree with Hippocrates that the spine is extremely important. However, I do not agree that dysfunction in the spine can cause disease. Rather, dysfunction in the spine causes a state of dis-ease or essentially lack of ease within the body. This is where chiropractic can help to create a sense of ease within the body by increasing function - particularly spinal function.

Gentle, specific, and effective chiropractic care is truly unmatched. In these pictures you can see me using a form of spinal analysis on someone. It is paramount that some form of analysis must be done before adjusting the spine or extremities in order to get results. Otherwise adjustments are just popping and / or pushing for no reason at all.

I find happiness in helping others through detailed communication and spending time to get to the root of issues. Specific and informed chiropractic care is truly something special.

Sports have always been an integral part of my life! I am happy that through chiropractic and soft tissue therapies I am able to offer care to athletes that need it just like I did back in the day (and still do lol)!

So happy to have a practice that is warm and inviting, even from the outside! A place that you wouldn’t expect a chiropractor to be in but that’s exactly how I wanted it! I want my practice members to feel like this is a place that they can feel welcomed and relaxed in.

The Graston Technique can be used to decrease fascial / soft tissue tension, stabilize joints, and create better range of motion. There are many applications to the technique so an initial exam / consultation is important to see what form of Graston is best for each person!

Today I wanted to highlight and thank a local U.S. Marine veteran - Neil Gobbel! Neil is a native to Greenville and has plenty of generations who’ve also served in the military and were based out of Greenville. Neil actively served in the marines from 1995 - 1999 mainly in California and Japan. Now Neil has a passion to help other veterans as a real estate agent! He often works with fellow veteran clients to get them the best option possible!

Why did I open my own practice? 🤔

In my previous job as a chiropractor, I saw how insurance rules patient care. You’re pushed to treatment times that are extremely short and sometimes unnecessary or incorrect in my opinion.

Now that I am not in network with insurances some would assume care would be more expensive - however a lot times that is not true. I have affordable prices of single treatments and short term care plans. I also can provide a super bill that my patients can submit to their own insurances in order to seek reimbursement. HSA and FSA are always available to use in the office.

Now, I am able to spend more time doing great adjustments and soft tissue work. I have seen that this ultimately gets patients better quicker - this is my whole goal.
I find joy and abundance in what I do now as a chiropractor.

Why look at leg length difference? 🧐

Although our bones are usually equal in length, functional leg length discrepancy causes one leg to appear longer when really, it's just a misalignment in your pelvis, hip, knee, ankle, or foot.

Many times, after correct and precise adjustments, the functional leg length discrepancy will even out. This is exactly what I look for before and after each adjustment!

Even leg length indicates a good response to an adjustment. My ultimate goal is to see the leg length discrepancy get less and less each time someone comes in 👍🏼
