*Update May 15* State of VT has stated our business will remain closed until June 1. Probably days before that we will be notified whether yes we can open or no it will be later...like on or before June 15. So we wait ... again. Thanks for your patience.

It all started 2 years ago today when I graduated from Castleton University with my Bachelors in Business Management. I always knew I wanted to be my own boss and own my own business one day. I grew up around the barber shop with my grandpa and dad. I swept the floors ever since I can remember. My great grandfather started the shop in 1934. That’s 85 years Star Barber Shop has been in business! Now it is the oldest running barber shop in Vermont. I did not always know that barbering was something I wanted to do. I was lucky enough to have two awesome mentors to help me find my path. My grandfather slowly started losing his memory 6 years ago. He was forced to retire and just recently passed away from dementia in September. He was my greatest inspiration and my bestfriend. When I made the decision to start barbering I immediately went to the home he was in and told him the news. He may not have known what I was saying at the time, but I know he’s looking down smiling now. I am the youngest barber in Rutland, Vermont and I love this town. Having people come into the shop and ask for “the fading Italian” is an awesome rewarding feeling. I am chasing a dream and I love seeing the way I make people feel from a haircut. This is my passion and I can’t wait to be able to come back to it. I can’t wait to see the familiar and unfamiliar faces. I can’t wait to be cutting hair in my family shop again. See you all soon.💈
