We are Hiring for a Project Architect
Johnston Design Group seeks a Project Architect for a variety of project types ranging from custom residential and multi-family to large scale commercial and mixed-use projects. This is a full-time position in our office environment located in downtown Greenville, South Carolina. Occasional travel to jobsites in the region may be required. Compensation is competitive and will be based on qualifications. Benefits include but are not limited to flextime, matching IRA contribution, HSA contribution, and unlimited access to the best coffee in town.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Architect will lead project development in its entirety through all phases from programming to construction administration. Specific tasks include programming and conceptual design sessions with Clients, creative design development, and preparation of construction documents. The Project Architect will be the primary contact for engineering consultants, general contractors, owners, team members, and municipal authorities. Project involvement will also include typical construction administration duties such as shop drawing and submittal review, periodic construction observation, and contract administration.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Accredited architectural degree- BArch or March
• 3+ years of professional experience
• Diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and related software
• Strong knowledge of construction details
• Strong knowledge of building codes
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Architectural Licensure
• Ability to effectively manage a small project team of staff and consultants.
• Sustainable accreditation such as LEED or WELL AP
• Independent project management
• Proficiency in verbal and graphic communication
