"What's a transmission rebuild?" you ask. That's a repair in which we take apart the transmission, clean the working parts, replace the broken ones, and replace all the wearable items like gaskets and seals.
Nobody wants to hear that their vehicle's transmission needs rebuilding. However, the news is not all bad. We can check for manufacturer's service bulletins and make upgrades to your transmission as recommended while we're in there for repair.
While it is possible to replace your entire transmission with another one (usually a rebuilt or remanufactured model), rebuilding your existing unit is often best. A rebuild ensures that the unit fits your vehicle as it should.
Although any transmission repair comes with a price tag, we can often help you save money with a transmission rebuild. That's because a rebuild takes advantage of the parts that are still usable and replaces only the bad ones, upgrades where there are needs, and replaces all seals and gaskets, pistons, bearings (if applicable), and bushings.
We can also do performance upgrades.
We're glad to rebuild your vehicle's transmission for you when it's time, but we're also happy to help you keep your transmission in good condition as long as possible. Talk to us about any transmission services you might need.
When we rebuild your transmission, we keep the parts that are still good. However, we wash them in a chemical solution in a parts washer before returning them to the unit to remove any gunk and debris.
A transmission rebuild results in a unit that works like new in your vehicle. That will serve you a lot better over the long haul than will a minimal repair that just puts a "bandaid" on the situation.
Did you know that a transmission rebuild not only makes the transmission work well, but it also may extend the life of everything else, too. A properly functioning transmission puts less strain on the engine and drivetrain.
Did you know that there is an association dedicated to shops and technicians who rebuild transmissions? It's called ATRA, the Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association. An ATRA affiliated shop and/or ATRA certified technicians assure you of the highest quality rebuild.

Idle cars are statistically more likely to develop issues. Check your transmission fluids before driving again to prevent these potential issues.
Some new vehicles, especially those fitted with automatic gearboxes, have transmissions that are almost sealed shut, with fluid that's meant to last the lifetime of the car.
It's helpful to understand the role transmission fluid plays in a car's operation. Transmission fluid helps keep mechanical components cool and lubricated, whether the gearbox is automatic or manual.
Over time, the transmission's interior components wear down, and tiny particles contaminate the fluid. This could potentially lead to damage.
Getting rid of this dirty fluid makes sense, right? If it's called for in the service manual, go ahead and let your mechanic do the job.
Yes, even a manual needs transmission fluid. The type of fluid can vary from car to car, however. Some manuals require conventional engine oil, and others function best with automatic transmission fluid. So make sure you're putting in the fluid that's specified for your car. Failing to do so can rapidly affect its performance and the gearbox's longevity.
Changing the transmission fluid in your vehicle can be a complicated and messy task for the average car owner. Many modern cars have transmissions that are basically sealed tight or require a dealer's service computer to read temperature or other parameters, making them all but impossible to work on for the average do-it-yourselfer.
If you love cars and driving, then we think that a manual transmission will appeal to you more than automatic transmission because of its versatility.
Automatic transmission cars need more regular fluid and filter change. The reason for this is high fluid temperatures resulting from the slippage of the torque convertor.
You may grind gears on a manual transmission if you're a bit new to stick shift or end up burning the clutch on steep inclines and such but remember manual transmissions cost a lot less to repair than automatic transmissions. With fewer parts, maintenance is easier and consequently cheaper.
Automatic transmission operates on a hydraulic pump that tends to make the car guzzle fuel. Manual transmissions, on the other hand, normally consume less fuel than their automatic counterparts.
There are two kinds of drivers: those who want complete control over their ride, and those who are happy even in self-driven cars. What would you prefer?
