Heading down to Miami for an art show! I just posted lots of new work for the site - and I loved working on this Alligator piece - “Pink Gator Pond”.

Happy Squirrel Appreciation Day y’all 🐿️ - this is one of many days I’ll be celebrating with everyone this year - highlighting my favorite wildlife.

Did you know several years ago an actual squirrel got loose in my studio and and I tried to catch it?

The squirrel may have scratched me - and when I say “may” I mean I probably most certainly had not been scratched. My anxiety at the time was brewing strong and so I called a person in our state of SC who is a rabies investigator and told them I was worried I had rabies. He calmly said that it was extremely unlikely I had rabies. And furthermore, there were no recorded documentation of squirrels giving humans rabies. But all my anxiety brain heard was, “You’re the first person to catch rabies from a squirrel.” 😐 🐿️

So, squirrels became this wonderful reminder that I don’t have it all together - and that asking for help - especially mental help is 100% ok.
