CERT training educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their community and trains them in basic disaster response skills. Following an event when professional responders are not immediately available, those who have completed CERT training are better equipped to assist others in their neighborhood or workplace. Participants gain hands-on experience in the following sessions: ✅ Basic Disaster Preparedness ✅ Basic Fire Suppression
✅ Disaster Medical Operations 1: Triage & Treating Life Threatening Injuries
✅ Disaster Medical Operations 2: Assessment, Treatment, and Hygiene
✅ Light Search & Rescue
✅Team Organization & Disaster Psychology
✅ Terrorism & Active Shooters
The class ends with a Final Exercise where participants put the skills they learned to the test. Thank you to our instructors, CERT members who return to play victims in the final exercise or refresh their stills, and to Greenville City Fire Department for allowing us to use their training tower and classroom.
