Dr. Minges and Tori (dental assistant) spent their July 4th week with the Dominican Dental Mission Project serving people in rural communities. They provided dental work that these patients would most likely not have received due to lack of access to care. Dr. Minges completed her 9th trip and this was Tori’s first. Dr. Minges is on the board that has helped take over running the project to continue its legacy of 42 years.🦷 We are proud of their work and happy to have them back safely!💜

Dr. Minges was back in action in the office this week after spending July 4th week providing dental care to the people of the Dominican Republic with the Dominican Dental Mission Project. She is now part of the DDMP Committee that helps plan and organize the trip that just completed its 41st year. Dr. Minges has been participating in this mission trip for 8 years, where they provide a variety of services (extractions, fillings, cleanings/SRP, and even complete/partial dentures) for the local people. Their team provided $500k worth of care in 5 days, that’s impressive! Thank you for setting a great example of what it means to serve and give back!🦷🇩🇴

Our office has been working hard to increase awareness of the benefits of diagnosing tongue/lip ties early (ideally before 6 months). Babies are screened more routinely in larger cities (Charlotte and the Triangle). Thus, not all providers are comfortable diagnosing and sometimes posterior tongue ties are more difficult to diagnose. That’s where we come in! Call our office and we will get you scheduled for a consult. We offer same day treatment.

Today marks our 300th infant frenectomy! Drs. Marcuard and Minges saw a need in 2019 to improve access to care with laser frenectomies in eastern NC. They have a passion to serve and have been overwhelmed with the number of patients they have been able to help. We are still working to increase awareness of the procedure and benefits- improve breastfeeding/feeding goals and overall development. Please reach out if you have any questions.
