With 2 days to go till Brewing for Rhinos, we are drawing attention to the last 2 northern white rhinos in the world. Both females, this subspecies of rhino is destined for extinction. Through events such as Brewing for Rhinos, AAZK in collaboration with the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy and the International Rhino Foundation is working hard to make this the last rhino to go extinct during our lifetime.

Today we are continuing our countdown to Brewing for Rhinos on the 22nd. With 3 days to go, we are highlighting the 3 national parks in Indonesia the money raised goes to help. They are Ujung Kulon, Bukit Barisan Selatan, and Way Kambas National Parks. These parks are spread between the islands of Java and Sumatra where they are home to either Javan or Sumatran rhinoceros, both species which are critically endangered. AAZK supports the work of the International Rhino Foundation in these parks, where they employ rhino protection units (RPUs). The RPUs patrol the parks and work to remove snares and check for signs of poachers while collecting data on the rhinos.
One of the new twists on Brewing for Rhinos this year is the virtual auction! By doing a virtual auction, it will allow folks to participate even if they are not able to join all of us in person on September 22nd at Pangaea Brewing Company. It also means that the fun starts early before the event! As of this morning, our auction has gone live and will be open for bidding 24/7 leading up until 8pm on the 22nd. To enter the auction, got to https://www.32auctions.com/GVLBFR . Happy bidding!

It's the final countdown, with 5 days to go until World Rhino Day, that means we have only 5 days until it is time for Brewing for Rhinos! We hope you countdown with us leading up to September 22nd and join us that night at Pangaea Brewing Company to celebrate in person.
For 5, we will kick it off with the number of species of rhinos left in the wild today. The 5 remaining species of rhino are the black rhinoceros and white rhinoceros in Africa and the Javan rhinoceros, Sumatran rhinoceros, and greater one-horned rhinoceros in Asia.
Javan, Sumatran, greater one-horned, black and white. Though these five rhino species live in different parts of the world, in different types of ecosystems and face different threats, they all share at least one thing in common - they need all of us helping them. You can help us spread awareness for rhinos and celebrate these five magnificent species any day, but especially on Sept 22, . Updates on WRD events and ways to help are at rhinos.org/world-rhino-day
Brewing For Rhinos 2022 is less than a month away! We hope to see everyone at Pangaea Brewing Company on September 22nd starting at 6pm. Join us for a night of conservation work, good food, and great beer! We can’t wait to share with you more exciting details as the event gets closer and look forward to seeing everyone on the 22nd.
Come out to Pangaea Brewing on September 22nd for Brewing for Rhinos to enjoy a beer with friends while also raising money through a silent auction and animal art sales to help save rhinos.
Brewing for rhinos is the Greenville AAZK’s annual fundraiser for rhino conservation. The American Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK) has been raising money for rhino conservation since 1990 and in that time has managed to raise over 8.7 million dollars for conservation. This money has gone to preserving black rhinoceros and white rhinoceros across the African continent along with Javan rhinoceros and Sumatran rhinoceros in Indonesia by sponsoring anti-poaching units in national parks and providing research grants to rhinoceros scientist to help make sure that these “chubby unicorns” don’t go extinct.
