DYK Hughes Main Library is in the urban arts campus Heritage Green, which got its name from the Heritage Historic District? We are right on the edge of the district which boasts a rich history of Greek Culture. The nearby St. George Orthodox Cathedral was organized in 1931 and made the area a popular location for Greek immigrants and their families.
This weekend you can check out the 38th annual Greek Festival on N Academy St. And if you have a chance before or after the festival, hop over to the library for your weekend reading needs! 🇬🇷💚

Meet Pauline Nichols. At 103 she is our oldest Homebound patron. We met with Pauline to pick up the books she had finished reading and to provide her with a fresh tote bag of books to dive into. She invited us to sit down and shared about her love of reading, which really took off when she moved from her home in Florida to a retirement community here in Greenville. For Pauline, reading helped her through the transition into a new home and season of life, and then quickly became a favorite hobby. She's even been telling the other residents about our services and about how we learn each patron's likes and dislikes, curating a selection of materials just for them.
Would you, a family member, or someone in your community benefit from the Library's Homebound service? Find out more here: https://loom.ly/EWqtYQM
