Dagger Kayaks
Wherever There's Water. Team Tested and Paddler Proven Kayaks.
You've probably seen a similar line here before, but we never get tired of watching the Vanguard skip out from waterfalls! Especially when Isaac Hull is in the driver's seat!
What’s up everyone! here with the Instagram take over! I wanted to start the take over with my favorite day paddling this season.
This spring and I set out on a back yard mission on the South Fork of the American river. Our goal was to put in at Kyburz and paddled to Folsom lake. We left the house at 4 am to set shuttle. We were on the river and hour before the sunlight hit the water. The plan was to run Kyburz (class 4), Riverton to Peavine (class 3), Golden Gate (class 5-5+), Slab Creek (class 4), Chili Bar (class 3), C to G (class 2), and the gorge (class 3). This link up is not always easy to time since Slab creek is a below a dam and is controlled by release that only release 6 days a year. The other crux was that Golden Gate was at really high flows. Everything about the trip ended up going perfectly smooth. We moved quickly through all of the challenging whitewater with few portages and no major mishaps. We got to Slab Creek just in time to catch some other groups and have a social paddled down. Finally we did the long 20 mile class three slog to the lake. Stoked to have finished our day at 60.78 miles and 12 hours 47 minutes and 29 seconds.

Sketchiest move on Royal Gorge? At least can make it look good!
Would you fire up this sequence like Cameron O'Connor?
We are loving all these epic Cali photos from Logan Smith!

*** Join Team Dagger on the July 4th weekend for a full day of fun on the Ocoee River!
Next Saturday, July 6th we will be hosting a demo day and team paddle in partnership with Rock Creek Ocoee. During which, we will have demos of all your soon-to-be favorite dagger models available. We will run an Upper trip and a Middle trip, with a glizzy grill-out at the Middle put-in for lunch.
Here's a rundown on how things will go:
* 9:00 a.m. Saturday, July 6th - Dagger crew will set up a booth at Rock Creek Ocoee and begin taking sign-ups for demo boats.
* 10:30 a.m. - Depart for Upper Ocoee. We will be helping with shuttle, but planning to set your own shuttle will help things run more smoothly. As logistics go, we will be adjusting on the fly, so don't stress about it too much.
* 1:00 p.m. - Upper crew arrives at the lake above Dam No. 2. There will be a Dagger booth set up at the Dam No. 2 parking area on the upstream side. We will be grilling hotdogs and hosting a social hour before departing on the Middle. Sign-ups for demos on the Middle will happen here.
* 2:00 p.m. - Put on the Middle Ocoee. As with the Upper, planning to have your own shuttle set in advance will help things run smoothly. We plan to take the lap slow and play all the features, so bring snacks and plenty of water.
Our aim is to rally a fun group lap while providing an opportunity for you to paddle the Dagger kayaks you've been curious about trying out. Come join us next weekend to paddle with the team, demo a boat, or just have a good time!

paddlers Isaac Hull and Sage Donnelly opt for different lines options during a test session of Indra prototypes. Isaac is in a M/L and Sage is in a S/M. The research and development we put our kayaks through is extensive, and Team paddlers ensure our boats paddle well in the most extreme environments.

While communities have historically depended on rivers for food, water, sustenance, navigation, and cultural value, kayaking allows us to connect to the river in an entirely new way that is linked purely to joy and adventure. When we fall in love with something, we naturally strive to protect it. When youths feel strong and competent in an activity such as kayaking, their confidence and belief in themselves grow. Those two factors combine and yield a powerful synergy in this program that produces strong and thoughtful leaders and local advocates.
Kayakimün is an exciting initiative to enable youths who are already connected and passionate about the river to connect in a new way with its currents and to learn to raise their voices and share their message with the world.
Dagger is honored to support Ríos to Rivers Kayakimün program in Chile with these custom Dagger Code & Rewind kayaks.
Kayakimün is a youth program and movement to strengthen and empower the sacred bond between the people and the river.
Chile’s Biobío River Basin is a caleidoscope of biological and cultural diversity that thrums throughout the river basin. For generations, the Mapuche-Pehuenche people have stewarded the basin, living in community-oriented reciprocity with the land and water.
Kayakimün was born from the organization Malen Leubü, an all-women, all-Mapuche-Pehuenche rafting team founded and run by the director of Ríos to Rivers Chile, Fernanda Purrán. The project will train Mapuche-Pehuenche women and youth in whitewater rafting skills and create a platform where their ancestral wisdom about the environment can be shared. In a unique opportunity to combine conservation and Indigenous empowerment with watersports, biodiversity and a traditional way of life will be showcased and protected.
