Fine Arts Center Theatre
We're the Fine Arts Center Theatre. The Fine Arts Center Theatre program is a laboratory . Every incoming theatre student begins in the morning class.
Students try their hand at the craft of theatre in a 4400 square foot black box, where everything is flexible and almost anything is possible (or at least attemptable). The year consists of a fast-paced, thorough investigation of theatre’s many genres, using historical timeline as a guide. Students work together to produce fully-designed and acted scenes, ranging from Greek to commedia del arte to
EVERYBODY. Written by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, Directed by Shelley Butler. What a time we have had for the past month and some change! We sold out 3/4 nights and this production was received so well and met with so much love. This production required the audience to engage their minds as it touched on the topic of race, gender, sexuality, and the emotional human-being as a whole. We are also so proud that this play was written by a black male and led by a black female. We are so grateful to The for granting us the budget to work with Shelley Butler ( ). It was truly a pleasure. Thank you to our wonderful teacher ( ) for helping us acquire the skills needed to work and perform at our best. Thank you so much to our DESIGN AND PRODUCTION TEAM for your hard work on making this play come alive visually and scenically. Thank you so much to The Fine Arts Center ( ) for allowing these students the avenue to express their passion and creativity. Thank you to our marketing team ( and ) for helping spread the word and promoting this production. Lastly, thank YOU ALL for your support during this time. We do not take it for granted and we will never forget it. Another era conquered and many more to go!! Love you guys✨🫶🏽

Just doing a cool thing in movement class today. Responding physically to the work of William Downs, here in our beautiful FAC art gallery.
The Fine Arts Center Theatre Department is absolutely excited to have Shelley Butler as an Artist-in-Residence, serving as Guest Director of the FAC Fall Theatre Production, "Everybody”, written by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins. Shelley has over 40 Broadway, Off-Broadway, and Regional credits to date. She is also the wife of former guest artist, West Hyler. Her residency is funded in part by a grant from the Peace Center.🖤
