Drum roll please!! Please join us in welcoming our newest team member, Sam Childers! Sam is a 2024 graduate from the Anderson University (SC) School of Interior Design. She is a social butterfly who often finds herself making as many friends as she can wherever she goes. That said, her emotional connection with others comes into play in the way she designs spaces as well. Her work is, in many ways, a practical application or display of the intentional care she has for individuals and organizations around her because the best designs begin with empathy.
Outside of the office, Sam loves cooking/eating with friends, overspending on lattes, or spending time with her face in a book from her collection. Welcome to the team Sam!!!

Parkside Pediatrics has a well established reputation for high quality pediatric care and was beginning to expand their sister practice, Parkside Family Medicine, when they approached us to design a new office to be shared by both practices. The resulting design is a 13,000 sf. office that draws from the residential character of the surrounding area and has a large front porch welcoming incoming patients.
The entire facility was designed specifically with the Parkside standard of patient care in mind, with amenities like an outdoor playground, bubble machines in pediatric rooms, on-site x-ray, and lots of natural light in the interior. Outside of the clinical areas, spaces are designed for team collaboration with break rooms, conference and office spaces, and an outdoor break area.

We recently said "see you later" to our favorite Honduran designer. We're so thankful it's not a "goodbye" as Yasmine will stay on our team remotely from her new home in Arizona. But things just aren't the same here in the office without her. We miss you already Yasmine!

This former Dollar General has been wildly transformed to give Crosspoint Church (Clemson, SC) students a space to call their own, and we're obsessed with it. We've done a handful of projects with Crosspoint by now, and we've loved developing a fruitful partnership with their team. Thanks to Executive Pastor Will Jackson for being willing to say some really kind things about Equip. We can't wait for the next one!

Did someone say "innovative adaptive reuse?" This previously-vacant grocery store is now a state-of-the-art medical office thanks to Tribe513. The Parkside Health Center is home to Parkside Pediatrics, Parkside Family Medicine, Breastfeeding Center at Parkside, and TRIBE Clinical Research, as well as Bridge City Coffee's newest location. Tribe513's vision for this space was to fill a large space with multiple practices who could share resources and maximize impact.
This project preserved the building's original structure and character while integrating modern healthcare infrastructure, ensuring a seamless transition from retail space to medical facility. The shopping cart airlock has been converted to a Bridge City Coffee which is open to staff, patients, and the community. New skylights and an indoor playground in the building center create an indoor park space flooded with natural daylight. Meanwhile, all three practices under one roof share a break room, meeting space, and restrooms for employees. This effort stands as a testament to creative planning and sustainable development, demonstrating how thoughtful repurposing can breathe new life into neighborhoods while serving essential community services.

We're delighted to introduce you to our 2024 Summer interns - Charlie Hall and Jaiden Shea! Both are involved with the Clemson University School of Architecture. Charlie will be diving back in for his final semester in the Fall while Jaiden begins her graduate studies.
Outside of the office, you'll find Charlie running up and down the Swamp Rabbit Trail, and you won't find Jaiden at all because she'll be off seeing the world on another one of her adventures. We're blessed to have these two on the squad for the Summer!

Everybody stand back, dads are GRILLING! Last week we celebrated two 40th birthdays (Jonathan E. and Tanner) and a 30th birthday (Josh) with a "grill dads" themed party. We ate our weight in BBQ and, in typical Equip fashion, showed up in our best on-theme attire. We hope you enjoy swiping through these photos half as much as we did taking them! Happy birthday , Tanner Sharpe, and ! We're so thankful for you all.

We'd like to extend a HUGE congratulations to these four ladies who have all just received well-deserved promotions here at Equip. Haley Baldwin has been promoted from PM to Associate, Kendall Seay has been promoted from Jr. PM to PM, Lauren Mahaffey has been promoted from Jr. PM to PM, and Porter Covil has been promoted from Jr. Designer to Jr. PM. These ladies work tirelessly to be the best designers and advisors that they can be for our clients and we love having the opportunity to celebrate them. 10 YEAR PARTY! We recently took an evening to ourselves to celebrate Equip's tenth birthday at Southernside Brewing Co. It's been such a treat to reflect back on all the ways the Lord has blessed Equip over the last decade. If you've worked with Equip and/or interacted with our team, you know we only pick the best of the best. Our people are what make Equip special and this was a night for our people. We consider it an honor to do life together and cannot wait to see what's in store for Equip over the next ten years and beyond!

Okay folks, this is a big one! Equip is celebrating TEN YEARS as a firm. The work we get to do here at Equip is nothing short of a dream. Our office culture and everyone who contributes to it are what make Equip Studio successful. So much has happened since our inception in 2014, we figured it would be good to take a little look back at some of what we accomplished in those ten years.

It's official!! ' new space is OPEN for business. We are so honored to have been asked to design this incredible new space for a GVL staple. This weekend Scout's opened their doors for their official grand opening and of course we couldn't resist showing our support by eating doughnuts. We didn't want to, but we had to do it 😜🍩. Huge shoutout to , who led the design and absolutely knocked this one out of the park!

Join us in welcoming our newest team member, Shyla Hilken! Shyla has quickly become such a bright light in our office and we're so thankful to have her on the team. She joined us after graduate school at University of Tennessee and a season of striking residential work in the Aspen, CO area. We're honored she relocated across the country to work at Equip and we couldn't be more thrilled to welcome her to Greenville. Welcome aboard, Shyla!

Former Walmart turned contemporary church: a story we're hearing more and more often in our world. When Multiply Church Concord had the opportunity take over this space to accommodate their growing numbers, we couldn't wait to get on board. This 66,000 sf. facility is now home to a 950-seat primary worship venue, a spacious lobby with coffee shop (open throughout the week), and supporting children's ministry spaces.
The design reimagines Multiply Concord’s Old World aesthetic and blends it with the contemporary vision of the church’s younger generation. We're so thankful for the relationships made with Multiply Concord and our continued partnership with Edifice Construction.

When Dr. Blank engaged us to design the space for Ember Modern Medicine, we were so thrilled to play even a small role in such a unique and refreshing healthcare practice. Ember is perfect for patients looking for a member-based, direct primary care practice with a comprehensive, tailor-made approach to health. We'd like to extend a huge THANKS to Dr. Blank for sharing these kind words about his experience working with our team at Equip.

Last weekend, Multiply Church Concord got to experience their first Sunday service in their newly renovated home. When the church engaged us in 2021 to design the renovation of this once-Walmart, we couldn't wait to jump in and get started. After years of planning and slowly acquiring different parts of the Village Shopping Center in Concord, NC, Multiply can now call this new campus home. Guests will notice a new 1,000-seat worship space, large lobby space for fellowship, coffee shop, and plenty of supporting ministry space to accommodate the next generation of growth. Multiply has been a treat client to work with and we can't wait to work with them again!
Edifice Construction

Last week, we had the honor and pleasure to join North Greenville University for the ribbon cutting ceremony of their newly renovated administrative building - the Robert. W. Plaster Free Enterprise Center. Our team has poured countless hours into making sure this renovation project best serves the needs of the school's executives and its students. We're so thrilled to watch how this building is used and loved by the university!

We are so excited to introduce you to one of our newest team members, Yasmine Kattan! Yasmine recently joined us all the way from Arizona where she earned a dual Master's degree in Architectural Studies and Construction Management from ASU. Prior to her life in Arizona, Yasmine grew up in Honduras, Central America where she spent much of her young adult life volunteering to rebuild underdeveloped homes. She not only brings some incredible experience, but a unique perspective to our team. We're thankful to have Yasmine as the perfect new addition to our team. Show her some love in the comments!

Seacoast Church's newly designed Johns Island campus is where contemporary coastal style meets traditional architecture. This 18,000 sf. facility will be one of 14 Seacoast campuses and was designed with high-end finishes to be made available for weddings in the future. The proposed design features a spacious, sun-soaked lobby with an intimate 350-seat worship venue, complete with supporting spaces. While our team is putting finishing touches on the construction documents, the church plans to be putting shovels in the ground later this summer.

We're thrilled to announce our first-ever Senior Associate, Peter Shamblin! Peter has been with Equip since our early days in the basement and has added value to our organization at every single turn. Peter not only manages a variety of projects for our office, but has also made himself a crucial piece to our BIM management and contract development efforts. A man of many talents, and now promoted to Senior Associate! Show Peter some love in the comments!

We've done chair races, we've done co****le tournaments, heck...we've had a wedding in our office. But this is a first for Equip! Emma needed a trim and figured there was no better time or place.

New Construction at Renovation?? You read that right. Renovation Church in Hampstead, NC is pushing to break ground on their brand new 17-acre campus in the coming months. Since its inception nearly nine years ago, Renovation has been a mobile campus. After years of growth, the church was able to purchase this large parcel of land for their new forever home. The design features an 850-seat worship venue, child development center, and a spacious lobby connecting the campus that opens to a large green space. More to come as we get shovels in the ground soon!

Spotify may have incorrectly named Brad's Top Genre for the year, but the joke will live on forever. Our favorite cottagecore team member hits the big 4-0 tomorrow, and we couldn't think of a better way to honor his legacy than by dressing in our best cottagecore attire. Happy birthday, Brad!!
