This covered porch addition was a fun one to plan – we added some great outdoor living space plus a grilling area with great storage and countertop space!

Answering one of our most–asked questions: Are Home Additions Worth It? ⬇️

⏳ The answer depends on how long you want to stay in the home! Let us break it down for you.

3️⃣ If you plan to live in this home for 3 years or less, you will likely see a partial return on your investment – the home will not appreciate enough to cover ALL the costs.

5️⃣ If you plan to live in this home for 5 years or more, you will PROBABLY see a return on your investment. Most homeowners not only break even but will see an increase in home value sometime between the 3 and 5-year mark.

🏡 If this is your forever home, but you need more space, an addition is the PERFECT solution. Not only will you live in the home long enough to see a return on your investment, but you will also get to enjoy the additional space for many years to come!

Three things we did to transform this space:

1️⃣ Enclosed the area so it could be climate-controlled

2️⃣ Added a wall of windows that provided a gorgeous view of the backyard

3️⃣ Improved the flow of the space by changing door placements

Remember our cobblestone deck addition? We wrapped this project up a few weeks ago and we're dropping the final result TOMORROW 🚨

Who wants a bathroom space that's actually functional? 🙋‍♂️

Here is just one way we made this space work for our client:

➡️ We replaced the standard door with a barn door! 🚪

There were way too many doors at this end of the room! Cabinet doors, closet doors, and the main door created a pinch point! Not anymore – the barn door slides into the primary bedroom outside, keeping the space open no matter what.

We use renderings to help you visualize your project in real life! This is an addition in Chanticleer we recently finished! Though some details like colors and furniture may differ, these images helped our client see the space before it even existed!

These clients loved organic textures and colors, so keeping these cabinets made sense for them. We designed a new look for this kitchen that felt completely different without replacing all the cabinetry!

New paint, countertops, hardware, and lighting made the difference in this kitchen.

Many of you followed our weekly updates on Walkthrough Wednesday as we built our Hope Street screened porch addition. Here is the final result!

A few things we love about this project:

A STUNNING living room makeover ✨

This space was part of our Simpsonville Kitchen Remodel! We opened up the kitchen into the living area by removing a wall and integrating the hardwood floors.

We also refinished the fireplace with a more modern painted plaster surround.

This accordion door was a very technical install, but made for a stunning finished space! Does this count as al fresco dining? 😉

The rainstorms in Greenville last night have us looking forward to sunny summer days ahead ☀️

In this photo, our carpenters were installing windows for a 4-season screened porch. A space like this will be perfect for enjoying weather of any kind!
