New Christmas EP ‘The Newborn King’ out now! Listen here: https://linktr.ee/nathanangelo
In May 2014, I played my first show with an upstart party band called Steel Toe Stiletto. 10 years and hundreds of gigs later, we are still going strong! These three—Ryan, RoseAngela & Preston—were on my first gig in May ‘14 (they had a handful before I joined). They are true professionals who always bring their A game and have pushed me to be a better musician and performer. And man…they are good people as well. It’s been a fun ride. Happy ten-yer (or tenure 😉)!
Greenville, I’m playing Downtown Alive at tomorrow (Thursday)! Join me and my band for some good times, 5:30-8:30p.
Happy Easter! Christ is risen indeed.
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” James 1:17
Yesterday our second son, Henry, was born! We’ve been talking to him and getting to know his wild antics in utero for many months, but it was such a joy to hold him, hear him and kiss him. We are overwhelmed with gratitude to our loving Father for blessing us. Mama and baby are both doing well.
Happy January friends! I’ve been in hibernation, but I’ve emerged to celebrate the release of this song one year ago (along with “Destiny” & “You Got It All”). It was intentional to release it in the dead of winter when we could all use a little more sunshine. For all my videographer friends, it went live on last month if you’d like to legally use (license) it for one of your videos. You can find most of my music over there as well. ☀️
A few years back, I recorded “The Christmas Song” (originally made popular by Nat King Cole) for my first holiday EP ‘Season for You.’ My producer, Swaff, had the idea to record it live in one-take with his reel to reel tape machine (JVC RD-1450). We recorded it at his church on a Steinway grand piano. Here’s a video that he took with his phone, showing the recording gear/process and final performance. Enjoy!
Today + Tomorrow. See you soon, Charlotte!
Guys, I’m SO excited to play more Christmas shows—Charlotte tomorrow & Greenville Thursday! Both are early shows (7:30pm) with no opener. Come one, come all! 🎅🏼
What a blast! Thank you to everyone who came out to a show on Friday & Saturday. Shoutout to my partners-in-merriment: Micah, Ryan & Jonathan. I’m excited to keep the festivities going this week in Charlotte & Greenville. See you soon!

Christmastime is here!! 🎄
Many Christmases ago, I was asked to join some friends for a Christmas show. I said “yes” for two reasons: I love Christmas music and I respected these friends. Little did I know that 14 years later, we would still be playing this light-hearted yet heart-warming show. I’m honored to share the stage with these good men. Join us tomorrow and Saturday night at for a fun-filled, musical adventure…aka the Xtravaganza!
Guys- I’m pumped to play some Christmas shows! Next week, we kick things off in Atlanta for 2 nights (4 shows) at Eddie’s Attic with the Xtravaganza crew. The following week, my band and I are bringing the party to Charlotte and Greenville. Grab tickets. Make plans. Let’s get into the Christmas spirit together! 🎄
7 years ago today, Lucy had a liver transplant. It’s still wild to think about all that she/we went through before she had even turned 2 years old. We give glory to God for watching over our daughter for that 10+ hour surgery, for keeping her in good health for the past 7 years and for sustaining us (mom & dad) every step of the way. “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lam 3:22-23
I think this was my best year yet on Spotify!! 🙌🏼 Nearly 900,000 people listened to my music?!?! That’s nuts. Thanks for listening, friends.
If you’ve been holding out to listen to Christmas music (more specifically, my new EP), Julian wants you to know that it’s officially Christmas season now, so you’re in the clear and all good to go. Happy listening! 👍🏼

Happy Thanksgiving week! I’d like to start by expressing my gratitude to many talented friends who helped make this project come alive. 🙏🏼
Arrangers • About a decade ago, Ryan Horne and I played with an arrangement for “Silent Night” that vamped on a simple lyric ‘in peace’ at the end. Shortly after, Micah Dalton shared a folk version of “Joy to the World” that he developed with beautiful chord changes and ‘ooos’ on the turnarounds. Ryan would later record his own version (2014), and I wanted to expand on both with a pop world-beat and a tribal chant to match the lyric with celebratory music.
Producer • So much of what you hear on these tracks is the creativity and production genius of Sean Crawford. He’s unafraid to dig and discover interesting soundscapes or to be patient and try again the next day with something totally different.
Musicians & Engineers • I wanted to track bass and drums live AND in Greenville. Previously, I’d only recorded in Nashville and Atlanta. My friend, Shane Nelson, had recently built a studio in town. This February, we recorded drums and bass at his studio. He provided a great sounding kit and dialed in amazing tones (a big part of the battle to making a good sounding record). I asked my friend, Preston Shewbridge, to hold down the bass, and he brought on his good buddy, Chris Knight, to play drums. They have been a team on sessions consistently for the past few years, so their camaraderie and ability to work together gave us the perfect foundation. On “Joy to the World,” I sang a groove idea to Chris. He went in and brought it to life beyond what I could’ve imagined. Laura Koelle joined me and Shane at his studio about a month later and brought the magic on the cello, layering parts to develop the symphony that you hear on “The First Noel.”
Children’s choir • My daughter Lucy and Sean’s daughter Emma were happy to lend their voices on “Silent Night,” but in order to get the children’s choir aesthetic we needed more voices. Fortunately, my nephews and niece (Nathan, James & Lydia) have been singing a lot recently, so they added their awesome voices.
Artwork • My wife Lindsay came up with this magical artwork that I just love.
If you missed it yesterday, my new Christmas EP ‘The Newborn King’ is out everywhere! I’ve wanted to record a project like this for many years…of Carols reinterpreted. I think it’s pretty special. I hope it helps you to celebrate the mystery and miracle of this joyous holiday season we call Christmas. You can find it wherever you prefer to listen to music. Thanks for your support!
CDs came in today!! Sending out the first batch this afternoon. 🚀 You can order a copy on my website, and as always, you can stream/buy on all digital platforms.
Friends- I know it’s not even Thanksgiving yet, but I’ve got Christmas on my mind because my new EP—The Newborn King—is out everywhere!! Go find it on your favorite music platform, like it, add it to your favorite playlist and give it a spin. Even if you have strict rules about not listening to Christmas music before Thanksgiving 🙄, you can still find it and save it for later. Also, physical copies (CD) are available on my website. Merry early Christmas! (Link in bio)
We sent an early copy of “Joy to the World” to Santa, and he sent back this video!! He’s confident that it’s going to give the Spirit Clausometer a proper boost to get his sleigh flying extra fast this year. Side note: since it was so early in the holiday season, Santa didn’t have time to dye his beard white. (My kids were confused as well 😂😂) My new Christmas EP—The Newborn King—drops in 6 days!! Preorder today. 🎅🏼

‘Tis the season! I always love when mother picks out our clothes for family portraits with the brothers. This year is going to be the best Xtravaganza ever (not based on any empirical evidence, but I’ve got a good feeling). Save the date(s)!
We had a blast playing the Greer Arts & Eats Festival this past weekend! Thanks for having us.
