Preparing for a spray tan at The Space is a great way to achieve a beautiful, natural-looking tan without the harmful effects of UV exposure. To ensure the best possible outcome, follow these detailed steps to prepare for your spray tan session:

1. Schedule: Contact us to schedule your spray tan appointment. A spray tan should be scheduled 2-3 days before an event, as this is when the color is at its optimal and best.
2. Exfoliate: Prior to your appointment, it’s crucial to exfoliate your entire body. Use a gentle scrub or exfoliating mitt to remove any dead skin cells, oils, or residue that may hinder the spray tan’s absorption and result in an uneven application. Pay extra attention to rough areas like elbows, knees, and ankles.
3. Shave or wax: If you need to remove any body hair, do so at least 24 hours before your appointment. Shaving or waxing immediately before a spray tan can lead to skin irritation and uneven color.

9. Post-tan care: After your spray tan, it's essential to follow vour technician's post-tan care instructions. This typically involves avoiding water contact, sweating, or physical activities for a specific period, usually 6-8 hours. During this time, the tanning solution will continue to develop, giving you the desired color.

We are so happy to introduce you to Tanya Miszko, our new Team Member and a Licensed Acupuncturist! For those of you who have been with us since our humble beginnings, you will recall that we once offered Acupuncture on our service menu. All these years later and we have always wanted to have another Acupuncturist on the team. How serendipitous that Tanya would find us by scheduling an appointment with us? Needless to say, we cannot express how excited we are to be able to offer such an amazing form of self care again!

Tanya is kicking off her schedule with a Group Acupuncture Event on June 1st, from 4-6pm! Group Acupuncture is a great way to “dip your toes in” if you’re curious about Acupuncture and don’t want to commit just quite yet until you’ve learned more. Group Acupuncture is as the name implies: in a group setting vs. a private session in a room. It lasts 30 minutes vs. the traditional 60 minutes and it is limited to 10 needles on your ankles, wrists, and face/neck/ears. Group Acupuncture is also great for those on a budget but still want to receive care, being that the group session is only $40.

A little bit about Tanya: Tanya Miszko, L.Ac., is a licensed acupuncturist and a Diplomate in Acupuncture from the National Certifcation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She received her Master’s degree in Acupuncture from The New England School of Acupuncture, with a specialty in Japanese style acupuncture. Tanya has been studying and practicing Shakuju (non-insertive Japanese style acupuncture) under the supervision of Kobayashi Shoji from Japan. She focuses on women’s health issues, stress reduction, and overall well-being. Tanya incorporates her passion for healing and health into an integrated mind-body therapy.
