No one knows what a nightmare it was each year making the red carpet! It was hundreds of feet long and had to be taped together - it took days just to assemble it at our house with a very large outdoor plaza, then we had only about 15 minutes to install it once the streets closed to traffic and adhere it to the street! Thanks to for these behind the scenes shot of the red carpet!!!

It’s just that time of year when I get so many Fashion in on the Avenue memories! This one was 2013. 100 models and 5 minutes after the show ended and everyone went into the stores for the parties the skies opened and it poured heavy rain for hours! The parties were a blast and packed that year! Great for business! Who remembers that night? This appeared in the Greenwich - ❤️greenwich

How time has flown! (Not!). Can’t believe it’s been 7 years since my last Fashion on the Avenue outdoor show in Greenwich! I’m being interviewed here before the show. Miss those days!!! I can never feel ‘normal’ on this day. I start to get the sick feeling in my stomach on September 10, and the memories flood back clearly. The shock, the numbness, the not knowing what else would happen that day in NYC and being scared I would not be able to get home ever again, not being able to get in touch with the nursery school in CT where my son had just started a week before because there was no cell service, the skies that turned from bright blue to grey. Wandering the streets with my colleagues and the rest of midtown just walking. The relief of finally getting home that night and holding my son very tight. And then the weeks that followed, speaking with the media about the Brooks Brothers store serving as a morgue and rest area for rescue workers. And then the trying to get back to ‘normal’, doing business again, rescheduling events, feeling the unification of the country. I happened to just come across an article I was interviewed for by the Washington Post later that month. It’s an excerpt, just the first 2 pages, my quotes are on the second page, followed by some photos I hadn’t seen before of the store. I pray today still for all the victims, their families and those heroes who just went selflessly and helped in so many ways and who still suffer from the tragedy and illnesses caused. We’ll never forget. 9-11-01. 🙏🏻 🇺🇸❤️

God Save the Queen 🙏🏻 Has any other monarch or leader of a country survived 7 decades of wars, recessions, social unrest and family scandals as Elizabeth II did? She sacrificed family relations many times for ‘the Crown’, and kept the stiff upper lip, but it was the role she was born into. Hopefully she was at peace in the end. 🙏🏻

I am sharing this Go Fund Me request from my dearest and second family from Bergenfield, NJ, the Lukas family, to help Sean Patrick Lukas, whom I always thought of as a little brother, and is suffering from blood cancer as a result of volunteering and helping to rebuild the World Trade Center. The monthly treatments, all the specialist medical visits and medical costs to save his life are outrageously expensive and not covered by insurance. And he still needs to provide for his family. Any small donation I know would be greatly appreciated by the family to help dear Sean. That latest in my summer of curly hair

Loved this Missoni dress! Modeling for the NaveaStyle blog 9 years ago! Was the beginning of blogging! It was so much work, styling (yourself), shooting and editing by Dr. PAB (not only brilliant MD PhD neuroscientist but artist too!), then writing a style article and wellness article, plus a full time job! It was fun though! Social media is so much easier now! Not the work but the outreach and platforms. A great summer dress, but who doesn’t love Missoni? #

What an amazing memory! With my bff of 40 years from home and dearest friend who I just reconnected with after 25 years .fred! We went to South Beach together on vacation in early 1990! We stayed at one of the ‘new’ hip boutique hotels. South Beach has just started its transformation and you had the new mixed with the old! I’m wearing one of Fred’s amazing hat designs! Love these sweet friends forever 💕 ❤️

In my summer of curly hair (still have not blown dry or used any hot tool in 8 months) and especially with the high humidity, rediscovered something I have not used is years and years - velcro rollers! I literally let my hair air dry add some serum (I use Olaplex 9) and then pop in different sizes of the rollers and sleep in them (actually comfortable) pop them out in the morning and run my hands through my hair with a small amount of hair serum and this is what you get! Actually takes the curly frizz out of your hair and lasts a few days too! The rollers are so cheap - I got mine on Amazon - under $9! First pic is last week and second was today, third pic is of the rollers. And both outfits I got at Walmart online. Really cute fashion finds (Amazon sells almost all the same products). But I can’t wait for fall and no humidity and to straighten my hair 😂 but this time has made my hair so healthy, thick and strong!

I love the mid to end of summer memories that pop up this time of year - fun, happy times to look back on. This was our first visit to the ‘new’ Yankee Stadium in 2009, it was a great game, great seats, a big win with the old team, CC pitching, Jeter still years away from retirement and World Series on the horizon! #2009

Remember listening to her in middle school first with the softer pop songs like ‘Have you ever been mellow’ and ‘Let me be there’, to Grease in high school, (and memorizing the word to every song and dance moves) to dancing to Physical in night clubs! Four years ago today in 2018, while my mom and I were visiting her brother Peter and family in Donegal Town, we had gone to church on a glorious sunny Sunday morning. We walked over to the center of town, the ‘Diamond’ and while they were off walking and chatting, I sat on the wall and took the quickest selfie ever! I just set the timer on my phone and perched it against my bag! Probably my favorite selfie ever! I was wearing a black Zara dress that was great for traveling as it never wrinkled! Me. Today. Curly. Yes. Au natural! For those who have not known me since me 20s, probably have no idea my hair is natural curly! Used to wear it nearly waist length curly, no layers, all summer then take hours blow drying it straight in the winter at that time (no salons did just blow outs back then and no flat irons!). Like most of us with hormone changes, after years of highlighting, frying it, extensions, then suddenly having major hair breakage, I’m talking inches, brittleness, etc. you have to realize your hair just needs a break and to be majorly nourished. So I have not put any heat to my hair in 6 months, have been taking Nutrafol women’s balance tablets for almost a year and started using the entire Olaplex hair system (0-9) for four months. I wore knit caps or headbands with halo extensions to zoom or go out! It’s actually amazing how strong and full and nourished my hair has become. I’m not a spokesperson for either of these products but they have saved my hair and right now I actually don’t mind wearing it curly, kinda has a rocker vibe to it! My hair was so brittle to the touch just a month ago and now it is super soft and growing like crazy!!! Still giving it a few more months before I’ll straighten it again since it looks like it’s going to be a hot and humid summer! If anyone wants details on any of this, especially how to use the Olaplex hair system because it can be confusing with so many products, feel free to DM me!
