In todays Mobility Monday, we have a hip mobility stretch. This stretch opens up the hips and stretches the glutes and hamstrings. When we sit for long periods of time, our hip flexors and glutes tighten. This stretch is perform to reduce tightness. Please leave a comment or question below!

In todays Mobility Monday, we talk about Nerve Flossing. Nerve Flossing helps to improve range of motion in the hips and down the leg, in addition to mobilizing and stretching the nerves. This helps to reduce irritation and tension. Try this out and let us know if you have any questions!

In todays Mobility Monday, we talk about the Child’s Pose stretch. We show you three variations of this stretch. This stretch helps to relieve tension in our low back by lengthening our spine. Child’s Pose opens up our hips and stretches our hip flexors which is important for prolonged sitting. Try this one out and let us know in the comments if you have any questions!

Mobility Monday!

In today’s Movements of Life, we bring you a simple exercise that is very important to implement in your daily routine! The active straight leg lift focuses on the strength to lift our leg. Remember to first squeeze your quad before lifting your leg and drive your back into the floor to engage the core. This exercise engages our hip flexors and our quads. To advance this exercise, we add a crunch with our opposing arm. Try this out and comment below if you have any questions or concerns!

Today, we will be talking about calf mobility. Tight calves can affect many different movements like walking, squatting, and even standing. To check if you have tight calves, you can perform this test. Find a wall and place your barefoot a fists distance away from it. While keeping your heel down, drive your knee toward the wall. If you can touch the wall, you have good mobility. If not this simple stretch can make a big difference.

In today's Mobility Monday, we are talking about Thoracic Mobility. This is the section of your back associated with your ribs. This area can really get stiff and affect many different movements. Today's Movement of Life is the Lat pulldown. This exercise is great for strengthening the muscles that help keep your shoulders down. Keeping your shoulders down help to achieve better positioning for your overhead reach, push up, and row. It can also help relieve tension in your trap muscle that may cause headaches and shoulder pain.
