Mini-Stitches Quilt!
This mini-stitches quilt was inspired by Bernina's new Model 990. A new feature on this machine is “Jumbo Stitches”--making any decorative stitch resizeable to 500%. While playing with this feature, I discovered you could also accurately miniaturize decorative stitches! Most of the stitches used in this quilt are 50% of their original size. Quilt size: 5 inches square. Thread: Kingstar Metallic.

Have to share a completed class project--Gresham customer Sharon Schwartz completed this stunning, personalized motorcycle T-shirt quilt for her brother! Sharon took Jayne Vetter's T-shirt Quilt class to master the techniques of taming T-shirts to make a quilt, and customized it with some embroidery. Her brother was blown away, as was the artist who did the art on the T-shirts. Good job Sharon!

There’s still time! Our Lake Oswego store is once again hosting the Mini Montavilla Mini Quilt Show! It’s open to all. Make a quilt no larger than 5”x7” and mail or deliver it to our Lake Oswego location no later than Nov 2nd, 2024. The sky is the limit — as long as the tiny quilt has at least two layers of fabric, or fabric-like material it’s in! All submissions will be displayed “outside” our Mini Montavilla model at our Lake Oswego location from Nov 4th-ish through the end of the year. There will be tiny ribbons and prizes, and a chance for viewers to vote on their favorite! We look forward to seeing your mini quilt!
