Nadaka Nature Park & Garden
Welcome to Nadaka Nature Park & Garden! Nadaka is a 12-acre urban park nestled between the Wilkes-East and Rockwood neighborhoods in Gresham, Oregon. Our 10-acre wooded forest area provides our community with a space to retreat into nature, observe birds, plants, and other wildlife, and participate in community engagement projects such as habitat restoration, bird walks, and other free educational or volunteer events. Nadaka also includes a large community garden, covered picnic shelter, and nature-based play area in the front 2 acres.
We are committed to engaging the full diversity of people living or working in the communities surrounding Nadaka, and encouraging stewardship as a method of improving the social and ecological condition of the park and its surrounding neighborhoods. Through partnerships with other nonprofit organizations, community groups, and government agencies, we work to create educational opportunities related to food, water and wildlife that increase environmental literacy, contribute to a stronger sense of place, and foster a diverse culture of stewardship around the park and throughout West Gresham, especially for low income people and people of color. We also offer local employment opportunities, particularly for youth and people of color, that foster new conservation leaders and investment in the parks system.
