My entry into community service began nearly 30 years ago with a small group of friends who, together, founded Gretna Economic Development Association - GEDA and the Gretna Fest. My wife and I decided to get involved with our community because we wanted to make it a better place to raise our family, and for our friends to raise their families. We wanted a better place for our children and for their children after that. That passion still drives me today! The story of the Gretna Heritage Festival is a story of economic development, of collaboration, of community, of persistence, and of hope. 30 years ago, downtown Gretna was deserted. Today, it’s an economic hub in Jefferson Parish. This is a story that I share because I bring that passion to every project that I touch and to every area of Jefferson Parish.
