Make time for yourself, especially when it feels like the last thing you should be doing.
For the first time I can recall, I failed to listen to my inner voice telling me not to start this journey. I denied all the whispers I heard along the route, warning me I was on the wrong path. I convinced myself that my navigation system might just be off and shrugged off my own warning system. And I crashed. Hard....
Sometimes it takes a dead end sign for us to see we are headed in the wrong direction. Sometimes it takes a dead end sign with a cliff on the other side of the guardrail to convince us it's really time to find a new way.
Today, I'm commandeering a bulldozer and will make my way somehow. But on a path I choose for myself.
Debunking some meditation myths! Meditation isn't about emptying your mind completely (that's impossible!). It's about gently observing your thoughts and letting them go. Anyone can meditate, and it doesn't have to take hours. Start small and see how you feel!

PASSION POST: We all have different priorities and goals in life. What one person finds fulfilling, another might find meaningless. For example, someone might value financial security above all else, while another might prioritize creative expression and helping others.
Our backgrounds, experiences, and current situations all play a role in what we consider success.
Society often presents a specific definition of success (wealth, power), but that might not align with what truly matters to you. Ultimately, success is about living a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling to you. And don't judge what success looks like for someone else.
Disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with yourself through the power of sound. Treat yourself to a digital detox and immerse yourself in the healing vibrations of a Himalayan singing bowl sound bath.

Sunshine, laughter, and the little things in between. ✨ Life is good.
Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is rest.
Planning your first sound bath but feeling a little intimidated? No worries! Here are some simple tips to create a relaxing and serene experience:
1. Set the mood with soft lighting, comfy blankets, bolsters or pillows for behind the knees and head and stream some calming music as guests arrive.
2. Provide a brief walkthrough of your sound bath and what your guests can expect. Many people have never experienced a sound bath before and might be slightly nervous about attending their first one (See, you are in this together!)
3. Be confident! You are the ONLY person that knows or needs to know that this is your first sound bath. You are bravely doing something for the very first time! And, in front of other people. You've got this and even if you think your nerves might get the best of you, relax....no one can tell.
4. Let Go and Flow! There's no right or wrong way to experience a sound bath. Simply relax, breathe, and play your bowls!
Dimming the lights and finding a comfortable spot....
As many of us in the US are returning from the July holiday last week, I know I'm not the only one that struggled to get up for work this morning. But the sun is shining and the birds are singing. Go crush today!

Singing bowls have been used for centuries to promote relaxation and improve sleep. Their deep, resonant tones can lull you into a peaceful state, making it easier to drift off.
Here's how it works:
The sound waves can slow down your brainwaves, promoting relaxation.
The vibrations can ease tension and anxiety, making it easier to quiet your mind.

Sometimes, the wisest move is to listen and just keep swimming.
The benefits that you experience with singing bowls can provide the same benefits to our pets.
The vibrations that travel through the air and can be felt by your pet. These subtle vibrations can have a massaging effect, promoting curiosity while the sounds can have the same relaxing effect they do on you!
Music can take you anywhere. What song instantly transports you to another time or place?
And my brain has been FRIED.... Time for a time out! T.G.I.Summer
SHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.........
I used to be so serious all the time. One of the many, many valuable lessons I learned from my husband is to lighten up, to laugh at the dumb stuff you see, to chill the f&$K out! ✨ What are you doing to add some fun to your day?
Sometimes, the best way to hear yourself is to turn down the noise.
When I feel like life is going a million miles an hour or my mind is racing uncontrollably, I've learned I can control this feeling by taking even just a few minutes for grounding.
Grounding is reconnecting your body and mind to the solid, strong Earth below us. Walking barefoot outside is the simplest and most common way to ground. Find a safe place with grass, dirt, or sand and remove your shoes and socks. Let your bare feet feel the ground beneath you. Take slow, deep breaths and focus on the sensations in your body. Close your eyes and connect with the feelings, the grass in between your toes, the sounds of birds or the playground in the distance. Feel the wind blow across your hair. This simple and short practice can settle your racing mind, lower your heart rate and provide a lasting hit of calm.
While not as direct as physical contact with the Earth, you can also use visualization or meditation to create a grounding effect. In meditation, we find our breath or an anchor point to focus our attention. With the same intention, you can practice grounding almost anywhere...even in that awful Monday 9am meeting.
Chocolates at the end of a sound bath? Didn't know that was a thing? It is at my sound baths! Why? A rich, dark chocolate can be a great way to ground yourself if you are feeling floaty or wiped out after a sound bath. Sometimes I even offer chocolate during a sound bath to introduce another sense into the experience.
And, my favorite chocolate is any chocolate. What's yours?
In our constantly stimulating world, silence is a luxury. Just a few minutes a day can be a powerful reset. It allows your mind to de-clutter, reducing stress and anxiety. In the quiet, you might spark creative ideas or simply gain a fresh perspective. It's like giving your brain a mini-vacation, leaving you feeling calmer and more focused.
Remember, good vibes are contagious, so spread some kindness today.
We've all been there. We've dropped a mallet. Had a bowl hit another bowl mid session. A microphone squeals with back feed at the deepest part of the session. How do I recover? I don't recover because I don't react to it. At all. I keep playing the same way I played before the disturbance after it happens. Don't apologize in the moment.
In my experience, that makes the situation even more disruptive for the client. Pick up the pieces and keep playing.
At the end of the session, if the experience was significant, I will address it with the client and always offer my apologies. More times than not, the client has already let that moment go and feels so great that it's a distant memory. Go easy on yourself, my friend. It happens to all of us if you do this enough.
Before I decided to offer sound baths publicly, I thought I shouldn't because I didn't look like the people that I saw online offering this service. Mind you, I am a mature, smart, self assured 51 year old woman. But the thought of not being 28 years old with a messy top bun and the right apparel on a lean body was holding me back.
No one told me this persona is required to offer space for people to quiet their minds. I made that idea up on my own and it becamse my reason to keep the bowls as a very private side of me and not share the practice with others. Paralyzed by fear but dreaming so intensely about wanting to introduce people in my community to the power of singing bowl meditations, I sought guidance from someone I admired in this space. She was so kind and so transparent, sharing her same thoughts and worries and how she overcame her own limiting beliefs. That interaction likely changed my life forever.
I can't reverse time and become 28 again. And I actually don't want to. My best years happened after 28. I don't want a messy bun. I love my hair and the confidence it gives me MOST of the time (excpt apparently where singing bowls are concerned). I am me and I've learned a lot, grew a lot and have a lot to share with others and my authentic me is great enough to share with others..so now I do.
