Seek Discomfort

A keychain from a trade appraisal on Friday lead to the topic for our Saturday meeting. Those that never leave their comfort zone will never grow. You must seek discomfort if you wish to seek growth.

The main example for Saturday morning was about sending personal videos to customers. The number one objection I get from sales staff as to why they don't want to send videos is always "I don't like the way I look on camera". Guess what - the customers don't care what you look like! They care that you take the extra time to send them a personal video that no one else did. Push yourself out of your comfort zone and send the video. It will pay dividends.

You don't usually see me drive Fords, but when we took in this 2023 Bronco with 6 speed manual transmission, I couldn't resist!

I couldn't be more proud of these three rockstars! We had some staffing issues today but it was nothing to worry about because Nate, Leul, and Hunter did what was needed to be done and knocked out 10 cars today! Many folks think sales is an individual job but it isn't, nore should it be. Today couldn't have happened if all four of us weren't on the same page the entire today. We are a TEAM. This is what sales should be. We helped each other all day long and we enjoyed every minute of it. Like my old boss used to tell me all the time "you must be present to win'. Today these 3 fine young men definitely won. They didn't just win because we sold some cars - they did so because all our customers today left with a smile on their face while driving off in their new rides! Thank you to those 10 amazing customers today for trusting us throughout their important buying process!

With the boom of automobiles at the turn of the 20th century, it created a major problem – Where to park them? Available land was scarce and cars on the street were increasing every day. Thus, the Vertical Parking Garage was born. It took up very limited ground space while being able to accommodate and park several vehicles. There were several different styles that were made in the process. Some that could operate like a Ferris Wheel and park 8 vehicles in the space that normally 2 cars could fit, and some that were made by Kent Automatic Garages that could hold as many as 1000 cars. Long wait times to retrieve your vehicle ultimately lead to the demise of the automatic parking garage and gave way to the parking garages we know today.

Another function of the GMC Multipro Tailgate is that it works great for little kids to sit on while we eat lunch in the mountains of North Carolina!

In the 1960's General Motors was trying to get the freight cost down on Vegas to keep them a budget friendly car. At the time, a new Vega had a price tag around $2,000. Engineers from GM and Southern Pacific Railroad came up with the Vert-A-Pac. This allowed 30 cars to be shipped per boxcar instead of 18. Lowering freight costs by up to 40%. GM engineers also designed specific oil baffles to keep oil from spilling along with specially designed carburetors, batteries and added plastic spacers between the powertrain and the chassis to prevent damage.
