Columbia County School District announce Teacher of the Year 2024-2025 finalists Columbia County School District (CCSD) announced the Top Five Finalists for the 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year on Sept. 10.

Today, we celebrate the incredible impact of speech teachers who dedicate their lives to shaping confident, articulate communicators.

These educators empower students to find their voices, express their ideas, and engage with the world meaningfully.

Thank you, speech-language pathologists, for your invaluable contributions and for inspiring us to speak with clarity, confidence, and conviction.

Our second graders have been learning about states of matter in science. They’ve read books on the topic, wrote procedural texts, and even tied in a math standard- graphing! And the culminating activity was making Coke floats! 🍦❤️🚂

This year we will celebrate the first Friday of each month with a theme. Each dress up day is $1 to participate.

All monies raised on First Fridays will go toward items in the ECE Depot (PBIS Cash- In Store) and Train Station Celebrations. Train Station Celebrations are held at the end of each quarter. Students get to cash in their E-Tickets to attend Glow Parties, Bounce Houses, Holiday Fun, etc.

E-tickets are also cashed in to purchase items from our ECE Depot. We appreciate your support.

🗣️ Teachers and students had the opportunity to dive deep into meaningful conversations about their progress and goals for the school year. These “chats” are a powerful way to increase engagement and foster academic ownership within our classrooms. By discussing data openly, we empower our students to take charge of their learning journey.

Today, some of our first grade students had a fun and educational experience learning all about chocolate! They discovered the process of making chocolate, from the basic ingredients in milk chocolate to where Hershey’s chocolate is made. They even learned about the step-by-step process that turns it into the delicious treats we all love.

To top it off, they did a super cool experiment where they guessed whether different candies would float or sink. They found out that candies with really dense molecules are the ones that sink to the bottom.

We are so thankful for our community partners like Cary Conwell with Columbia County, Georgia Farm Bureau Insurance who continue to invest in our students.

We are launching a membership drive for the next four weeks, and the top three classes with the highest membership numbers will receive an ice cream social, supporting our school while giving your student a sweet treat.
