After speaking with Ronald Parker this evening:

We at Gulf Coast Motor Sports Park have decided to
CANCEL ALL REGULAR GMP RACES for the rest of the Year.
We WILL Finish out the Deep South Southern Race Series.
August 29th (Collins) and October 3rd (Hattiesburg)

This however DOES NOT mean that GMP is CLOSING for good.
We are just taking the rest of the season off to get
Melissa, Ronald, & William all back to 110%.
GMP will Open Back up in 2016 for
8th Annual Huey Watts Memorial Ice Breaker.

The DSSR Series will run as scheduled unless the "R" word sets
us back, and in that situation we will look to Mr. David Kirkley,
and Mr. Donald Parker to make those decisions.

Ronald, Melissa, & William would like to thank everyone for keeping them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We would also like to thank Sunset Speedway, Hattiesburg Speedway, & Our GMP Track Workers for All that you have done and are doing to keep the DSSR Series running on schedule.

Thanks

Please let everyone know that we will not be racing this coming weekend. With Melissa still in the Hospital. Family, Friends, and All of the GMP Family/Track-workers need to help focus on getting Melissa healthy and home before we race.. As a track worker myself, I know I would not be any good in the tower without having my BFF M at least out of the hospital and home.. So Please keep the Prayers coming, and as soon as we get her home we will look at the schedule to find a good date to reschedule this weekends race..

Thanks
Amy

Went to check on my BFF M Today..
Here is the update....
Melissa is showing some more improvement today. They have lowered her dependence on the respirator to the lowest setting. The Dr's told Ronald that there was a possibility that they might remove her from it tomorrow. This morning they removed her drain tube from her pelvic surgery. The doctors are encouraged by how she is progressing, but still very cautious about saying she is out of the woods. She will need more pelvic surgery with in the coming week.
She was resting peacefully when I went in to check on her.. Her vitals are still good. They are still giving her heparin to help reduce the blood clot, and to keep others from forming. She had a slight fever, but they are monitoring it. She still needs all of our love and Prayers..
Amy

07/26/2015

Update: Went to see my BFF M.. She is stable, and resting. All vital signs are still good. No Fever. She will have the breathing tube in for a few days, and no it's not helping her breath. She is able to breath on her own.. The tube is there to help build up the muscles in her lungs, and help keep any infection out. I went in to see her, and she is able to give us a thumbs up, shake her head yes or no.. I even learned a new signal tonight.. The fan that they have in her room to keep her cool (she is hot natured) was aimed towards her upper body..Well she wanted it aim at her feet.. I got a lot of hand movement for that one.. LOL Guess I'm a slow learner.. She may not open her eyes, and she is not able to talk because of the tube, but she does know who we are when we walk in.. She will have ups and downs, which is to be expected, but the doctors feel that she will get better. Her body just needs rest to heal its self. When I left tonight Ronald had his reclining chair set up next to the bed, and was in the process of sending everyone home for the night.. He is going to be by her side all night (which is where you will find 99 % of the time) to watch over her. Hopefully he will get some rest and so will she... So please keep all of us in your prayers. Pray for the families safe travels to and from the hospital. Pray for strength for Ronald. Pray for the Boys. Prayers for the Dr's and Nurses taking care of Melissa. And most of all Prayers for Melissa (my BFF M) that she get the rest her body needs to heal.

I will update again tomorrow when I go back to see her.

Amy

07/24/2015

Please say a Prayer for Melissa this morning as she goes in for her 2nd surgery. Pray not only for her but for the doctors and all the family gathered to see her smiling face when she comes out of surgery. This has been one week. Thank you for your continued prayers for Ronald, William, and Melissa.

07/20/2015

Ok I'm only going to say this once so please share with all the GMP racers and the series racers. After talking with Ronald Parker here is what you all need to get straight.

THE TRACK IS NOT CLOSED. HE/WE HAVE NOT CANCELLED ANY RACES AND ARE NOT PLANNING TO UNLESS WEATHER PLAYS A INTO IT.

UNLESS It comes out of Ronald ' s mouth and is posted on this page, the other Gulfcoast page, or the Web site.... IT'S JUST A VICIOUS RUMOR. SO PLEASE DON'T SPREAD THAT KIND OF TALK AROUND.

We have a race on August 1st. We are still planning on racing (weather permitting). I will post details as I know them. There is enough family and friends to help step in to race if Ronald can not be there. So just ignore the rumors.

Please keep William, Ronald & Melissa in your prayers.

Thanks
Amy.

Timeline photos 07/20/2015

Please continue to Pray..
If you have any question or need/want to find out any information please contact Amy Baker 228-238-2125. Please DO NOT try to Contact Ronald or Missy.. They need to focus on getting better.

07/20/2015

Please Keep the Parker & Baker Families in your thoughts and prayers... Saturday after the race Ronald Lee & Missy Parker and William Baker were in a terrible accident.. Ronald Lee & William both have a concussion, bruises, cuts and scraps. They are going to be sore for awhile. Missy & William took the brunt force of the wreck, and Missy was thrown from the suburban. Missy has a broken pelvic bone, broken shoulder, a liver laceration, and will have to undergo at least 1 more surgery, plus at least 30 days in a wheel chair, and lots of physical therapy.. Ronald has been by Missy's side since he was released from the hospital, but William has not gotten to see his Missy and is worrying himself sick about her. So he will be going to sit with her for awhile tomorrow. Please keep my BFF, Second-Husband (lol it's a Parker/Baker Joke) and My son in your prayers...
