THE BURN BAN FOR HARRISON COUNTY HAS BEEN LIFTED. I can assure you that we are all very happy with this news. With that being said, please be very cautious with burning. You are always responsible and liable if a fire that you started damages someone else’s property. We are still in a drought so large fires are not advised. You can only burn natural materials and each city has their own rules regarding burning. Once again please be very cautious.

**********Phone Scam Alert *********
Numerous calls are coming in about telephone scams. The Sheriff's Office does not call demanding money....ever. Harrison County Sheriff's Deputy Jason Collins does not exist. They do have an official sounding voicemail at phone number 228-332-8940 requesting that you leave a name and number. This is not a Harrison County Sheriff's phone number. Please do not leave your information on this machine.
They have also used the names of deputies Robert Lincoln, Joe Decker, Ed James and Chris Sexton. Feel free to contact us at 228-896-3000 if you are unsure of the validity of a phone call.
Mark your calendar for Wednesday, Dec. 6 from 6:30-7:30 p.m.!

****Update*****
Because of your tremendous generosity, all the the stars have been taken. Thank you for supporting our deputies and their families. We are so proud of this community that we get to serve!
Our Christmas Star Tree is back up for the holidays. Each of the twenty seven Sheriff's Stars on this tree represent a child of a HCSO employee who could use a little help this year. To participate, you simply pick a star off the tree, which has the child's s*x, age, clothing sizes and what they hope to get for Christmas. Once you have purchased gifts, you return them to the jail, unwrapped, by December 15th. We make sure they are delivered before the big day. If you have any questions, please call 896-0677.
