With Tropical Storm Ophelia forecast to dump many inches of rain on our area, we have made the decision to close the pantry tomorrow, Saturday September 23rd. This is for the safety of our volunteers and pantry clients. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.
With the weather turning colder, we are focusing on replenishing our soup stock. We are virtually out of all soup. We still have plenty of tomato and cream of mushroom soups! If you'd like to donate cans of soup, they may be dropped in the outside bin (to the right) 24/7, at 704 Garden St., Haddon Heights. Name brands are certainly not necessary, but pull tops are appreciated. Thank you!!β€οΈ
The pantry will be open, as usual, tomorrow and Saturday 9am-12pm. We will be closed next weekend (9/1-9/2) so our volunteers can take a much needed break. Non-perishable food donations can be placed in the outside bin 24/7. Thank you!

I want to begin by thanking everyone for their generosity to our food pantry! We are blessed to serve nearly 50 families/individuals each month! We are consistently amazed by the food that is donated, that we are able to distribute to local families and individuals in need.
I would like to take this opportunity to remind folks of two very important protocols we have:
We do not accept or distribute expired or previously opened foods. This is for the health and wellbeing of our pantry clients as well as legal protection for the church. (Seriously, if you donate expired foods...we drag it down the stairs, take time to check the date, and drag it back up to the curb for trash! PLEASE, just don't donate it.)
We do not accept perishable foods. We do make acceptations to this rule;
If you have perishable foods to donate, they MUST be given directly to a pantry team member: Pastor Shellie, Ginny Egbert, Betsy Holden, Nancy Worden, or myself. We must also be certain of the "cooling chain". If something is frozen/refrigerated, we need to be certain it came directly from a store or your refrigerator/freezer. No previously opened packages will be accepted.
If you wish to donate food, these are items that we currently need:
Jelly (Grape & Strawberry)
Juices
Canned fruits: Pineapple, mandarins, pears
Coffee
Tea bags
Hot chocolate (kids love their hot chocolate!)
Powdered or shelf stable milk
Pudding & gelatin mixes
Beef stew
ChefBoyardee type meals in a can
Ramen: Chicken
Cereal
Quick oats (we have plenty of instant packets at the moment!)
Rice mixes (various flavors, but chicken & beef are the most needed)
MAYO!!! (for all the tuna and canned chicken!)
Ketchup (kids tend to put this on everything)
Baking items: Sugar, flour, cooking oil
Brownie mixes
Cake mixes (with frosting! Kids need frosting on their birthday cakes!)
Dog & Cat foods (for the furry family members)
We DO NOT CURRENTLY NEED: green beans, corn, peas, mac & cheese, or stuffing mixes
Thank you! Blessings to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!
