God's Grace Fund is generously matching all donations made in July up to $25,000! To help us meet our fundraising goal, we've been sharing love stories all month long, and this one has an extra special connection to it!

God's Grace Fund was originally started by Mr. Maurice Johnston. His son, Michael, introduced us to a very special "coworker" of his -- Sunny! As it turns out, Sunny knows a thing or two about love!

Originally adopted from HSWC at around 2 years old, this big orange boy spent several years being loved by his owner. When she had to enter an assisted living facility, Sunny didn't wind up back at the shelter. In fact, he got an office job! Sunny joined Michael and his coworkers at M.S. Johnston as their "official office cat." Michael shared that "Sunny is loved by all our employees, and he loves visiting each one," adding "He does have his favorites!"

Now around 10 to 11 years old, Sunny continues to thrive in the office, and he's never without love! We're told he "provides happiness and entertainment to all he meets."

MS Johnston Company is celebrating Earth Day by sharing environmental benefits of their 50 kw solar array installed in 2019. In addition to 172,000 kWh of pollution free energy there has been 265,000 pounds of CO2 saved. This is equal to planting over 2000 trees.

M.S. Johnston is saddened to announce the passing of our Food Service manager Bill Stewart. He was part of our team for 40 years and will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD from 4:00 to 6:00 pm Wednesday December 29th with services to follow. Pastor Kris Nyman will be officiating.
