I love seeing my clients results. This client was seeing another esthetician regularly without much luck. We were able to obtain these results so far, after only 3 treatments. Treatments done: DMK skin revision & 2 advanced ph skin revisions. So, I‘ve come to the realization through research that water in America, doesn’t have the essential amount of minerals and nutrients needed to maintain proper hydration levels. Which is why we can often feel thirsty even when drinking copious amounts… This is why you don’t see water on my list but instead Electrolytes… you may think electrolytes like smart water, Gatorade ? Yes they have electrolytes. But naturally sourced electrolytes like coconut water, watermelon, are far more effective. If you’re looking to boost hydration levels through water, my favorite electrolyte supplement I use daily is by LMNT] . LMNT] uses less sugar than most electrolyte powders, if you haven’t checked the back of your electrolyte packaging, double check the amount of sugar added. Not an ad. Just genuinely love it. 🫶🏼

Exfoliating Tips:
When it comes to exfoliating I prefer a chemical exfoliant like AHAs or BHAs.

AHAs or alpha hydroxy acids— exfoliate by removing the layers of skin on the surface. This is great for stimulating new collagen & elastin. Common AHAs are glycolic, lactic, Mandelic, citric, malic acid, etc.

BHA: salicylic acid goes into the pore, to break up dead skin and congestion since it’s oil soluble. You also will see help with inflammation, this is great for oily skin or acne clients.

I love an exfoliant that uses ahas with enzymes, so that as the aha is working to loosen the glue, the enzymes come through, munching off all the dead skin. Enzymes typically used are: pineapple, papaya, rice & pumpkin.

I personally don’t like the use of manual exfoliations or physical exfoliation on the face (brushes, salt, sugar, shells, etc) because it can cause tugging and friction on the skin. If you have acne you shouldn’t use those modalities because it can spread the bacteria of the acne around on the skin.

exfoliations should only be used 1-2xs a week max, unless it’s gentle like a rice or enzyme exfoliant those can be used more frequently based on your esthetician’s recommendation.

DMK Enzyme I Skin revision treatment.

All we needed was to clear the lymph and get some proper blood flow moving to allow the redness and inflammation that was being held in the face down. You can also see the difference in color & tightness of the skin. She had a really beautiful plasmatic effect in areas as well. Super happy with the results & the healing that was given to the post picking acne spots she came in with.

This client has sensitive skin & receives blood blister like pimples. It’s very interesting so, I wanted to treat that inflammation response with more of a soothing treatment. I did a gentle exfoliation to help with scarring & discoloration. Removed unwanted congestion, performed lymphatic drainage massage (you can see the difference in the reduction puffiness).

Loved the difference in scarring so far & can’t wait to do more treatments to get closer to her goals.

The most important product when wanting to reduce the appearance of dark spots & pigmentation… will be and always will be.

***drumroll please***

C. SUNSCREEN

Why? well it doesn’t really matter what you’re using to fight existing pigmentation, if you’re not using sunscreen to protect from continuous exposure.

Not to mention, that when you are a client working on pigmentation, 9/10 we are going to be doing facials that utilize a higher grade exfoliant. Medical grade spf has been shown to reduce pigmentation without having to add brighteners in some cases. This is simply due to the fact that the skin exfoliates itself, and the spf protects from future pigmentation.

If you’re looking for a light weight spf I’d recommend the nutrascreen spf 30.
