2004 Chevy Tahoe with the classic p0171 and p0174 lean codes. This is a very common problem with the Chevy 4.8, 5.3, and the 6.0 LS based engines. Typical intake gaskets leaking causing a vacuum leak causing these lean codes. Replaced intake gaskets, cleaned throttle body, and mass air flow sensor. Truck runs like new now.

Needing AC Work done in the DFW area, Jay's Mobile Mechanic Service's has got you covered this year! Better get your AC work done before its gets much hotter outside! Here's a quick video of some A/C work I did on a 2017 Isuzu NPR. Replaced AC compressor, expansion valve, condenser, flushed all the AC lines, pulled vacuum on system and recharged system. AC is blowing snow now!

Cheaper Unqualified Mechanic Just Cost this Customer Some Serious $$$
6.0 Powerstroke. The cheaper unqualified mechanic cost this customer some serious $$$. Massive oil leak. 3 broken valve cover bolts. Had to extract the broken bolts, and repair the stripped bolt by using a Helicoil thread repair kit. The saying goes, “You get what you pay for!”

When brute force is needed to remove a stuck hub from a dually wheel, this method never fails!

A 2010 Ford 6.4 Powerstroke Diesel getting new Turbos today. I'm very surprised that they turbos came apart as easily as they did. Another job well do… See more

We have a 2012 Ford Taurus SHO with the 3.5 eco-boost motor. We’re doing an engine swap on this beauty. Won’t be too much longer before she’s back on the road. What a beautiful car this is!

I've had alot of inquires lately about just replacing rod and main engine bearings. Most of the time when you have a spun main rod bearing, its due to an internal engine oiling issue. Usually due to an engine being ran low on oil. So you just can't just go in and just replace the rod and main engine bearings. At the end of the day, the vehicle would need at minimum a replacement engine. A perfect example of this is the engine in this video here.

It’s alway very important you perform an induction service on any GM Direct Injected Engine or your engine could end up like this one. Dealer quoted customer 7k for new engine. 2015 Caddy SRX with the 3.6 engine with only 130k miles. Cylinder miss fire with low compression. Had to pull bank # 1 cylinder head. Both Intake ports on cylinder # 1 all full of carbon not allowing valves to close. Head will be sent to machine shop and will be cleaned and reassembled by them. Not a cheap job here!

2015 Honda Civic quick alternator replacement. Car just died suddenly and customer was able to coast vehicle into a parking lot. Customer is now back on the road!

Another high mileage Toyota 3.5 2grfe engine with the famous front timing cover oil leak. It amazes me how well this Toyota runs with almost 300k on the clock. Advised customer very common problem with the 2grfe engine. Customer wanted front crank shaft seal replaced to see if it minimizes the oil leak.

Customer called about a 2011 Buick Envlave with the 3.6 engine and stated it was leaking water. Went out to inspect vehicle, found bad water pump. Replaced water pump. Customer is back on the road.

Installing a secondary water pump on a 2012 Ford F350 6.7 Powerstroke engine. Pretty pricey pump at $190 + tax.

Another hot day, with multiple A/C calls. As you can see with this truck, the high side pressure is hitting almost 450 psi when the AC compressor engages. There is a restriction in the system. This is most likely caused by a failing AC compressor.

Assessing the condition of this GM 3.6 engine after one of the timing chains broke. These GM high feature 3.6’s engines are notorious for timing chain issues.

Customer states that none of the steering wheel control functions/ horn don’t work, also airbag light is on. Replaced clock spring. Now all the functions work as should.

This is the reason why it’s important to never ignore your brakes. This could have been avoided very easily. It could have had a very catastrophic ending too.

This 2013 Hyundai Elantra took a nice hit this last past week during the ice storm. So the customer asked if I could repair it, and I said yes. The car came out very nice!!!

Replacing Intake Gaskets on an Older F150 with the 4.6 Modular Engine. Coolant leak!
