Today we celebrated the life of Daniel Gray, our Chief Financial Officer, who passed away unexpectedly on March 23. Dan was with GST for 21 years and was not only a key part of our company, he was part of our GST family. Dan was a friend to everyone and never met a stranger. He would help at the drop of a hat, even when it wasn't "his job." Dan had a great sense of humor and was dedicated to his work. Dan was also a very proud husband, father and grandfather. We are so thankful to have had the privilege of working with Dan. Please join us in praying for Dan's wife, children, grandchildren and the many friends and family he leaves behind.

GST Manufacturing is seeking a qualified candidate that can work with out Machine shop manager and assist in Setup ups, First Article of inspection as well work a machine when needed. Be part in helping schedule the jobs to flow thru the shop floor and on to the next dept. GST is a full metal fabrication shop working for many industry leading companies, our customers require we do quality work and on time and you may be what we are looking for pending your qualifications and attitude. The right candidate will be able to work with a team, lead a team, meet expectation of his team leader and implement them in the shop floor themselves or along other employees and above all assist in training.

As a CNC Setup and QA you and the area manager will work to check all setups are what the blue prints request and check (QA) first part. You will have the responsabilty to give the go ahead to continue with production of the part. You will be a key member in Quality and Efficiency.

As the CNC Machinist for GST Manufacturing, you will have the opportunity to use a variety of precision measuring instruments, inspect in process or finished parts and feature characteristics as well as manufacturing methods to blueprint specifications. This is a chance for you to develop a career within a global business and to help us improve our processes.

Key accountabilities
- Setting up fixture components for jobs that require CNC Machining
- Understanding and have functional use of CNC code and CNC programming
- Setting machine origins in accordance with the set-up instructions
- Working to machine dimensions and maintain close tolerances and correlated dimensions with a high demand for squareness, concentricity, finish, and parallelism
- Setting and loading all tools in conjunction with set-up instructions to complete assigned jobs
- Ability to lift various items weighing up to approximately 40 pound

Management Functions:

- Manages day-to-day needs of the Stainless Steel department, making sure employees follow company rules and policies
- Must maintain a safe work environment
- Works with scheduling to meet production goals
- Instructs team on set-up techniques
- Instructs team on troubleshooting techniques
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules, using knowledge of capacities of employees and welding equipment
- Researches and evaluates the effectiveness of machinery, equipment, and shop procedures and recommends and implements changes to improve operational efficiency
- Perform first article inspection for all employees in the stainless steel area

Technical Functions:

- Be able to set up and operate welding machines, notching equipment, hand-held plasma machines, and stud guns.
- Inspect completed work for conformance to specification using tools such as calipers, measuring tapes, other types of measuring tools, etc.
- Setting up new and existing products to improve operational efficiency
- Familiar with welding speeds and technics to minimalize thermal expansion and maintain minimal warpage on light gauge materials
- Maintain all welding equipment in the stainless department
- Ordering of all consumables for the welding department
- Works with other departments to provide support with regard to production needs, inspection procedures, etc.

Qualifications/Abilities:

- Intimate knowledge of welding machines and handheld plasma equipment
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and GST detail drawings
- Ability to use Measuring Tools (tape measures, calipers, protractors, etc.)
- Good PC skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
- Strong math skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Experience:

- Stainless and Aluminum Tig/Mig
- Welding, 7 years (Required)
- Supervisor, 4 years (Required)
- Blueprint reading 5 to 7 years required
- Experience with measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, and protractor) 5 years required
- Manufacturing, 5 years (Preferred)
Bilingual (Preferred)
- Work Authorization: United States (Preferred)
