Where's everyone camping for Christmas 🎄? I met up with a few customers up at Lake Arrowhead State Park - Texas Parks and Wildlife this weekend. The park will be open this evening for people to drive through and look at all the decorated sites. Looks like they're making some nice upgrades throughout the park too. I was surprised to find a fresh concrete slap in site 12, which is in a great loop for a group of friends camping together. Hope you have a safe journey wherever you're heading too this Christmas. ~Jim

Good morning! I wanted to show you first hand how important roof maintenance is and why everyone should be attending the ROOF MAINTENANCE CLASS here at United RV Center on 4-6-2024. Click on the EVENTS tab for more information in North Texas Campers & RVers.

This Grand Design towable had two VERY small pin holes in the roof, which led to water intrusion, and then rotted two sections of the roof so badly I was worried about walking up there when i inspected it myself. This particular model had a curved roof which should have shed most of the water off, but it still wasn't enough to stop water from getting below the membrane. I will have these actual sections available for your first hand inspection during the ROOF MAINTENANCE CLASS.

Because this wasn't damage from a tree branch (that we could determine), it wasn't covered by their insurance company or the manufacturer. This roof job is being paid for out of pocket by the owner. This is why it is so important to attend the ROOF MAINTENANCE CLASS and learn how to prevent this from happening to you.

United RV provides complimentary roof inspections year round, M-F / 9-4.

Just a reminder that we sell propane. If your unit is here for service / maintenance, and you're a fall camper then reach out to your Service Advisor about topping off your tank(s). Otherwise swing by with your tank(s) and we can top them off for you while you wait. Furnaces eat through quite a bit of propane going into fall & winter! ~Jim

Thank you to everyone who came out to Saturday's "Winterization / Winter Camping" free seminar hosted by Jim Vititow. It great seeing so many familiar faces, meeting new people, and we hope you learned how to properly winterize your RV as well as how to camp in the winter months. This Saturday, October 21st, Jim Vititow (Service Director / Director of Operations for United RV) will be hosting an in-depth training class on how to properly winterize your RV, as well as how to camp in the winter months. You'll leave this class with a wealth of knowledge on how to prevent costly freeze damage to your RV, and how to take steps so that you can extend your camping season into the months where temps drop below freezing. These classes are ALWAYS FREE, ALWAYS IN PERSON, and is United RV's way of giving back to the RV community we have been serving for over 65 years.

Class will start promptly at 9AM (I would be early), we will have plenty of parking, and highly recommend you bring your own comfy camp chair as provided seating will be limited. We would also recommend bringing something to take notes with as well.

Jim has spent the last 25+ years working in the RV industry and has over 30 years RVing experience all around the United States in everything from pop-ups to Prevost. He's a wealth of knowledge and his classes are always entertaining and educational. Mark your calendar today!

What a rally! Thank all of you who came out and participated this year. It was great getting to meet so many of you even though I had to stay pretty close to my site (recovering from Covid-19 / negative tests), and just didn't have the normal energy you expect out of me. I've never had anything drain me of every ounce of energy in my life like this. Everyone seem to have a great time, thanks to all those who donated items for contest winners and giveaway items as well. Same for the gift card the Service Department here at United RV Center.

I'd like to give a HUGE shout out to this year's volunteer planning committee. We had some great members who were willing to step up and donate their time for months to plan, organize, and help keep this rally on track and rolling smoothly.

Thank you to Hickory Creek COE staff / Camp Hosts for letting us squeeze in our annual rally before they close for repairs over the next 6+ months. We can't wait for our "home campground" to open back up after the repairs have been made.

Never Forgotten.

Car overheating? Just pull over under a shade tree, make a little lunch, and read the paper. Back in the early days of camping. Of course.we were still doing this back in the 70s & 80s on those hard mountain pulls where everything overheated. ~Jim

Sick of your 30amp RV not keeping you cool running that one AC unit? I don't blame you! This customer has a 2022 Grand Design Transcend that we just added a second AC unit, hid all the wiring to where it looks factory, and installed a water tight marine outlet on the side where the owner can plug a 110v extension cord directly into the power supply at the camp site. There's no reason to be miserable in your RV that was designed to only run one AC. We do one of these a week during the summer months. We can install a third, fourth, and even a fifth AC unit on your RV to help keep you comfortable. Please reach out to any of our Service Advisors to discuss your needs.
