I am absolutely thrilled to announce that I have found a home for my beauty business! Starting in September, you can find me at Fringe Beauty Studio on Main in Hamburg on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sundays, by appointment only. Any traveling appointments already made will be honored, but moving forward appointments will be made for the salon unless specifically stated otherwise. It’s still my own business within the salon so I will still be using the same products and techniques (but always learning and growing)! I could not be more excited and I would like to thank my amazing clients both for their support over the years, and moving forward. I can’t wait to see you in my new space!

I resisted the parasites in my brain and did a very light beat to go out for my birthday dinner with my hunny and my fam. concealer, blush and highlight, and flower beauty setting powder with setting spray. shadow on the eyes with caviar mascara. Is getting better at holding myself back from doing a full beat when I do my makeup a product of getting older, or is it just me accepting that I can’t go long without my glasses on bc I get a headache and I’m doing only what I can in the time? Idk either way I’m not really panicking about turning 30, the past few years have been some of the best years of my life so far and I’m just so thankful for this life that I live. Maybe this year I’ll try harder to commit to giving myself more time for myself. We’ll see. 😂

Jen’s silver violet piecey bob is one of my favorite cuts (and color) to do! It’s so cute however she wears it, she can flip it side to side and get some different vibes, push it all back so it falls more layered or she can tuck it behind an ear and she gets a whole different look. God I love what I do. 🙏💕

Why do we pre-lighten the hair before applying vivid colors?
The short answer is because they simply show up better- picture drawing on a piece of the paper with a neutral colored crayon. Then on top of that you layer a bright color like blue, yellow or pink. The neutral color underneath it will “dilute” or neutralize the color on top, making it a less vibrant version of that color, or not allowing it to show up at all. Colors like blue and green won’t show up with any vibrancy on canvases darker than a light-medium to light blonde, and they really won’t pop unless the hair is lightened to a lightest pale yellow (inside of a banana) blonde. Other colors will appear as more of a dulled down, less vibrant version.
Another reason is porosity- if the hair is too healthy, the color won’t be able to pe*****te as well and it won’t last as long. If the hair is too porous and damaged, though, it won’t hold the color and the color may take darker initially.
There is so much that goes into vivid color, that’s why it’s my favorite thing to do!

Revamped Brook’s hair and did some treatments to help bring it back to life! She’s a new client to me and we did not lighten at this appointment but plan to in the future when her hair can handle it better. Sometimes you have to take a step back and evaluate the condition of the hair and adjust your plan from there!

2023 was an amazing year for me! I finished the process of getting my full cosmetology license (thanks for the delays, covid, lol), established my business license and took my business full time, and I am so blessed to be able to still be fully booked. In February, I will be implementing a long overdue price increase on my hair coloring services, and my booking app will reflect that when the updated pricing is live! If you already have an appointment booked, it will be your regular price this time and your next appointment will reflect the increase.
