CBD For Relaxation: ⬇️ 💚 Shoutout to Takisha Carter of @nativenubianwellness for this wonderful CBD-infused product! 💚 Here's a reminder of the importance of taking time to relax and the role cannabis can play in encouraging us to embrace rest, pleasure, and the beauty of just being. 💚 If I did not incorporate CBD-infused products in my everyday wellness routines, I'd probably fall prey to the capitalistic rhetoric that glorifies overworking at the expense of personal happiness. 💚 Go on and purchase those CBD-infused products. Thank me later! #wellness #selfcare #selflove #rest #rejuvenation #nurturing

A Safe Space: ⬇️ 💚 The beach is where I feel safe. The way the sand cushions my steps reminds me that comfort can come from the earth, simple and pure. 💚 When I'm there, the sun wraps me up in warmth - kind of like a hug from someone who cares a lot about me. 💚 It’s nice to stand where the water meets the shore, feeling the sun and listening to the waves. It’s like the beach understands me without me having to say anything. 💚 We should have a place where they feel completely at ease, a personal retreat that helps them feel whole again. 💚 What is your safe space? #safespace #beach #mentalhealth #selfcare #selflove #personaltime #retreat

Schedule That Friend Date: ⬇️ 💚 Whether it’s trying out that new café you’ve been eyeing, going for a leisurely walk in nature, or simply sitting together and talking about everything and nothing, these moments are precious. 💚 Allow yourself the joy and healing that come from being with those who know and love you best. It could be the uplifting experience you need to refresh your spirit. #friendship #sisterhood #love #family #healing #joy #dates

Your Therapist Has A Therapist: ⬇️ 💚 Being a therapist means my days are spent serving others, managing and guiding them through their mental health challenges. I love doing it, but sometimes it gets really heavy. 💚 Therapy is one of the only places I don’t have to be strong and fight. It’s a time I get to let go and release my stress productively and safely. Therapists need safe spaces because we are human too. 💚 It's comforting to know that in therapy, I'm not alone in my efforts to escape the pull of unhelpful patterns. Changing these ingrained behaviors is challenging; what's familiar often feels like the easiest path, even when it doesn't serve my greater good. 💚 It's a relief to have someone who listens and understands; someone who helps me see that it's okay to have moments when I'm not okay. It also helps me remember that taking care of myself lets me take better care of others. 💚 Are you going to therapy? #therapy #therapist #mentalhealth #selfcare #therapysession

Sing your heart out: ⬇️⁣ ⁣ 🤎 Healing from trauma is a profound process but there's one beautiful, powerful tool that I've seen work wonders in this healing journey: singing!⁣ ⁣ 🤎 Singing is not just a form of creative expression; it's a pathway to release your emotions. ⁣ ⁣ 🤎 By singing, you can also unlock doors to joy that has perhaps been buried by the weight of unspoken pain.⁣ ⁣ 🤎 This is not about having the perfect pitch, being a skilled vocalist, or fully knowing the lyrics to a song; it's about the raw, unfiltered act of allowing your emotions to flow through you in song. ⁣ ⁣ ✨So let yourself sing! Let the music carry you to places where words alone cannot.⁣ ⁣ ✨My DM's are open if you'd like to know more about trauma healing OR send me an email at [email protected]⁣ ⁣ Happy women's history month!⁣ ⁣ #joy #selflove #selfcare #happiness⁣ ⁣

Sing your heart out: ⬇️ 🤎 Healing from trauma is a profound process but there's one beautiful, powerful tool that I've seen work wonders in this healing journey: singing! 🤎 Singing is not just a form of creative expression; it's a pathway to release your emotions. 🤎 By singing, you can also unlock doors to joy that has perhaps been buried by the weight of unspoken pain. 🤎 This is not about having the perfect pitch, being a skilled vocalist, or fully knowing the lyrics to a song; it's about the raw, unfiltered act of allowing your emotions to flow through you in song. ✨So let yourself sing! Yes, it's true! ⬇️ 💚 Cannabis can be a catalyst for increased interest and motivation in non-work related activities, which can play a significant role in your healing journey. 💚 Think of your favorite leisure or play activity (cooking, painting, writing, drawing)...how does it make you feel? 💚 Now imagine a more pleasant and rewarding experience as you do your favorite non-work-related thing! That's what cannabis can do. 💚 Engaging in leisure and creative pursuits is essential for mental health and trauma recovery. Cannabis can enhance this process by contributing to a sense of calmness and making it easier for you to engage fully in the present moment, a practice known as mindfulness. 💚 The next time you have some free time for hobbies and fun activities, incorporate cannabis. Happy women's history month! #plantmedicine #generationalhealing #therapy #mentalhealth #hobby #pleasure

Speaks directly to the soul: ⬇️ ✨ "Restorative Yoga for Ethnic and Race-Based Stress and Trauma" by Dr. Gail Parker is a profound work that dives deep into the waters of collective and individual healing. ✨ This book speaks directly to the soul, acknowledging the often-overlooked trauma that can come with racial and ethnic stress. ✨ What's truly revolutionary about Dr. Parker's work is how it frames self-care as an act of resistance. To prioritize healing in the face of systemic injustice is powerful. ✨ For anyone who feels the weight of ethnic and race-based stress, and who carries the stories and pains of generations, this book is for you. ✨ It's a reminder that your experiences are valid, your pain is recognized, and there is a path forward—one that leads to rest, to healing, and to a profound sense of reclaiming your own story. Happy Women's History Month! ✨My DM's are open if you'd like to know more about trauma that can come with racial and ethnic stress and how to start healing OR send me an email at [email protected] #bookofthemonth #books #healing #racialtrauma #generationalhealing #selfcare

Subtle yet incredibly powerful signs: ⬇️ 🤎 You know you're healing when you start to rediscover parts of yourself that you thought were lost. It's a reawakening, a homecoming to the person you've always been beneath the layers of trauma. 🤎 You know you're healing when you can look at your past pain and instead of asking "Why me?" you begin to say "What can this teach me?" The lessons aren't always clear or easy, but you find strength in the search for meaning. 🤎 You know you're healing when you start prioritizing your peace of mind over the chaos that once felt like it had a permanent grip on you or the chaos that feels familiar. 🤎 And perhaps most beautifully, you know you're healing when you begin to find joy in old passions again. The hobbies and activities that once colored your life with excitement and pleasure start to call your name and you answer! 💚 Appreciate where you are on this path. Celebrate the small victories. Honor the process. And know that with each step, you're not just moving forward; you are also reclaiming the essence of who you are. Happy Women's History Month! ✨My DM's are open if you'd like to know more about healing trauma OR send me an email at [email protected] to schedule your therapy session! #selflove #selfcare #mentalhealth #therapy #therapist #love #joy #healing

A radical act: ⬇️ 🤎 As a black woman, carving out space for play, rest, and pleasure isn't just self-care, it's a radical act in a world that often demands us to give more than we receive. 🤎 You see, when you prioritize these things, you're not just taking care of yourself; you're making a statement that your happiness matters. 🤎 You're teaching the world how to treat you by how you treat yourself. You're breaking molds, defying stereotypes, and rewriting the narrative of what it means to be a strong black woman. 🤎 You're showing that strength isn't just about endurance; it's about knowing when to rest. ✨It's not just about carrying burdens; it's about setting them down to play and laugh and feel joy. ✨ It's not just about survival; it's about thriving in a life filled with the pleasures that you so richly deserve. 🤎 So go ahead, prioritize play, make rest non-negotiable, and pursue pleasure with the same passion you give to your responsibilities. ✨My DM's are open if you'd like to know more about allowing yourself to rest OR send me an email at [email protected] to schedule your therapy session! #rest #pleasure #blackwomen #mentalhealth #generationalhealing #play
