This Saturday Sports Medicine Specialist Dr. Rowland Mayor will be participating for the 18th year in the New England Classic annual fundraising ride. The ride spans over 550 miles through the White and Green Mountains of New Hampshire and Vermont as riders raise funds for the American Diabetes Association and Camp Carefree. Camp Carefree is a summer camp where kids with diabetes can learn to manage their diabetes and make friends with kids who face similar challenges.

Sports Medicine is on the Move! Dr. Stephanie Arlis-Mayor, Sports Medicine Specialist and Team Physician for US Soccer Women's National Team U19 Training camp just returned from Spain. The team is made up of elite players selected from the top soccer programs throughout the United States. Some will eventually go on to play for the US Soccer Federation, U.S. Women's National Team in the World Cup and the Olympics. This is her third trip with US Soccer Federation. During her time there , she took care of all the medical needs of the US players and the staff. She worked closely with athletic trainers, sport performance team and coaches. His selfless mission has brought him to Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, and most recently, the Dominican Republic.

Dr. Wijesekera’s commitment to this cause has led to the growth of his team to over 50 volunteers, and together they have successfully completed over 800 life-changing spinal surgeries. His exceptional contributions and tireless efforts make him truly deserving of this award, and we were honored to celebrate this achievement with him, his team, and his family.
