For those that don’t know
I started this company 14 years ago as a single dad and unemployed due to 2008 economy crash
I did a lot of service calls with Cheyenne
Today I got the phone call for down refrigeration with 2.5 million dollars in flowers from a long time customer
Cheyenne asked to come with…she’s been here plenty of times

It’s Groundhog Day and it’s official! Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow and spring is right around the corner. What else is around the corner? Your Trane HVAC. And it’s ready for whatever 2024 has in store.

With 3 decades in the Heating/Cooling industry I wanted to share some professional tips for this below zero weather after 12” of snow

1) Check your air filter!
A dirty or restrictive filter will increase run time or it will cause furnace to open a safety device causing heat to completely stop or blow cold air.
It is completely safe to run the furnace for a few days without an air filter.

2) Replace your thermostat batteries!
We’ve ran 100’s of calls where dead batteries stopped the system from coming on
If a Nest stat goes blank it can be charged w/micro usb on back of the main covers face plate

3) High efficiency furnaces require air in and exhaust out- keep the pvc pipes on the exterior clear of snow. If you have screens/chicken wire on them = remove it!
Clear the snow from the dryers exhaust vent as well

4) If your gas meter is buried it could cause the regulators diaphragm to freeze resulting in no gas to home

5) Homes with boilers
If you have baseboard heat, keep dampers all the way open and all furniture 6-10” from them to allow air to circulate

6) If you have any sinks on exterior walls leave cabinet doors open to allow heat to migrate into that space
