Lindsey Bane wants to share with all of you that she will be taking a temporary leave of absence from Barry’s for Hair to spend more time with her family. She is currently expecting and this is the safest option for her at this time. She will not be returning the rest of this year but she will be back!! We will keep you updated as to when she will return.

We are sad to announce that Holly Jenkins is no longer at Barry’s. For all of her clients , she has moved to 20 Hope Street Salon in Phoebus. Know that we are here if we can be of any assistance in the future.

We are now reopen!! If you haven’t heard from your stylist yet, give us a call and the receptionists will let them know that you need an appointment. Appointments after June 16 can be booked now with the receptionist.
Until June 16, stylists are working different days and hours to make sure we have no more than 10 people in the salon at any time. We are hoping to be back to our regular schedules by the 16th, but this all depends on instructions from the governor.
Again, please be patient with us and we will try to get you in as soon as possible.

If your appointment is before the 16th, please keep in mind that our reception area will remain closed. Please wait in your car when you arrive and we will be down to get you. We will take your temperature before you enter. You must have a mask to wear while in the salon. You may bring a handkerchief or bandanna to cover you mouth and nose during you service. Thanks for you cooperation!

At this time, we are planning to re-open on May 19. This could change if the state guidelines change. Because there can only be 10 people in the building at a time, stylists will only be able to work part time. We will only be able to do one person at a time which means we cannot do as many people in a day as we are used to. Please be patient with us.

Our reception area will not be open to wait for your stylist. When you arrive, please wait in your car. We will be expecting you. We will come out to get you and will take your temperature before you enter the building. Anyone with a temperature of 99.7 or above will not be allowed to enter the building (this includes employees)! Please be patient with us.

We will not be answering the phone as we know everyone is due for an appointment now. We will be calling you to schedule your appointment. If you already have an appointment the week we open, you will be contacted first although we may have to adjust the time because your stylists hours have changed. Anyone that had an appointment when we first closed in March will be contacted next. We are trying to do this as fairly as possible. Please be patient with us.

We ask that you bring a mask with you as you will be required to cover your mouth and nose while in the salon(a handkerchief or bandanna to cover your nose and mouth during your service is recommended). Your stylist will also be wearing a mask. Also, we will not be able to provide smocks. If you are getting a chemical service, please wear something without a collar that you are aware might get color on it. We will still be putting a cape around you.

We will not be permitted to serve beverages or provide magazines at this time.

Please know that we are taking extra precautions in cleaning and disinfecting. All chairs and shampoo bowls will be sanitized after each use. Counters and railings will be wiped down often as well as the bathroom.

Again, please be patient with us and we will do our best to get everybody in as quickly as we can. Thank you for your cooperation!

A WORD FROM YOUR HAIR STYLIST!!!

Yes- salon's will reopen- at some point- different for every state, every salon🤗
What can clients do to help salons navigate a new 'normal' you ask?🤔
Know you were missed terribly and your stylists is grateful for your return....
Know safety measures were created for all involved.🤗🤗🤗🤗
Know the importance of coming alone, extra people in a salon compromises everyone. 😔
Know your stylist cannot physically work 16 hour days 7 days a week, rest is essential for all..😴
Know your initial services will take more time. ⌚
Know that coming in sick isn't an option 😔
Know that walk-ins will not be an option for some salons- call the salon before you leave home.📞
Know that rescheduling hundreds of clients will take time...🤔⌚🤗🤗
Know that when you arrive you will need to wait until your stylist gives you the go ahead before entering the building, having your cell phone handy in your car will help considerably. 🤗
Know that your stylist is thrilled to see you but doesn't want or need a hug, your presence is the best hug ever. 😷🤗
Know that your health is the biggest concern. 🤗🤗🤗
Know that your stylist may choose to open at a later date than the state your in has allowed, being respectful of that decision takes an unimaginable load off his/ her brain and heart. 🤗
Know your stylist has already lost thousands of $$ and has no desire to replace it with a ventilator for either of you, be patient. ❤🤗
Know that if your health is already high risk, you need to wait, your health is more important..🤗🤗🤗🤗
Know that a 'soft opening ' will be anything but soft. 🙄
Know that your opinion of the entire situation won't change laws and rules necessary for everyone's safety are, keep the conversation to hair and how we can make you beautiful ❤🤗❤
Know that while trying to connect with your stylist there are hundreds of others attempting the same thing, responses will be slow coming as your stylist is preparing everything and answering everyone simultaneously 😳😳😳😳🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️😉🤗
Know, above all else, no one is more excited about your arrival than your stylist- help make it the best appointment ever!!!🙏❤🙏❤🙏

I know your roots are bad, I know your hair will be too long and you won't feel like yourself. I would love to go back to work but I can't, our industry can't. When you ask us what kind of color you will need and buy that store box color just remember your putting money into the big companies pocket while we small ones are suffering. There is no way to make income from our industry right now since we are hands on. When we can come back, please remember us and please don't blame us if we need to fix your hair and it will cost more.
Not only do we miss our income but we miss you. Our chats, laughter, tears, we share so much more than just a haircut. We are standing here united to stay safe but inside we are worried and stressed about our work being completely torn from us. We sit patiently waiting, like you, for answers or reassurance of some sort. With uncertain clarity, we hope and pray that you will be back to us soon and our industry comes back stronger than ever! 🙏

We at Barry’s hope that all of you are practicing social distancing and staying healthy. As much as you miss having your hair done, we miss being there for you. In our industry, if we don’t work, we don’t get paid. We so appreciate all of you being patient and waiting for us to safely return to the salon.
