I’m so excited that our City Council was able to make significant changes of the salary for our sworn officers that work tirelessly around the clock to make sure we are safe. Great things are happening in Newport News!!!

Parents starting the second week of May until August every Friday we will have Basketball and the Mighty Mighty Gaming Bus for children !!! We will have Food, Music, Haircuts and more !!! This is only for Newport News Residents!!!

Shoutout to our incredible student athletes from Woodside High School! At last nights council meeting we recognized their outstanding achievements in bringing home not one, but TWO state championships for Newport News Public Schools!
Let’s hear it for the bovs basketball team for their back-to-back victory, securing their SECOND consecutive state basketball championship!
And a huge congratulations to Jordyn Anderson for clinching a state wrestling title and showcasing unwavering determination and skill on the mat!

Merry Christmas !!!! Today I spent my morning thanking all the first responders for working on this Christmas Day. I started with all the 911 Dispatchers then we visited all the police precincts in the city and finished at Four Oaks Homeless Center. Special thanks to Chief Drew for allowing me to accompany him today, and special thanks to all the city workers that had to be at work today. I pray everyone have a safe and bless holiday.
